That’s an interesting thought @DIY.Rik, sounds like it could be oxygen related too then if they like that sort of substrate, I know fungi tend to thrive in higher co2 environments, whereas weed is totally the opposite, so they have that symbiotic relationship, I’m pretty sure carbon and perhaps co2 gets excreted from the roots too, fungi likes carbon.
The more I think about this the more it’s starting to make sense. There’s a couple of books I need to dig out and re read
Let me know which ones please and I'll seek them out. 🙂

Sure thing @DIY.Rik here you go

Teaming with microbes is aimed at organic gardeners and gives you all the information you need about the soil food web and the symbiotic relationship between plants, fungi and bacteria that goes on right under your feet, it covers much more though and will still be beneficial to an indoor horticulturalist but some of the recipes might not be best for indoors but still a lot can be learned from this book.
The second book in the series is a follow on from that one called teaming with nutrients, this book is a lot more advanced and harder to follow unless you have a good grasp of this sort of thing already, that being said there is still much useful information that can be had from it and still an interesting read.
This book breaks down plants, how they operate, how the cells work and how they work together to move nutrients and water to where it’s needed, I’ve only read this book once and that was a few years back so I’m very rusty on the subject, also I only read it once so most of it didn’t sink in properly, there’s much more in there than the brief description I just gave but like I say I’m rusty.

Here’s the section on roots, this section goes on for a few more pages but these photos cover it pretty well, everything after this just goes deeper down the rabbit hole.

Week 11 - Mother
Mums gone wild
Image

Decided it’s time for a haircut, should keep her under control for a bit.
Image

Week 4 - Flowers Increasing in Size
A+B = 2 ml/L
Silicon = 0.5 ml/L
Boost = 1 ml/L
Fulvic = 2 ml/L

E.C = 1.6
P.H = 5.8

Bulb = 600w hps

Total Veg Time = 7 Weeks

All is good in the flowering room, everything is a nice even green, bud sites everywhere and they are swelling by the day. Given up with training and defoliation now and just left them to grow, hurts my back too much all the reaching over. Swapped out the 400w hps to a 600w for the rest of this grow.
After this barrel of feed I will start to drop the a+b down gradually, they’ve stopped stretching now so should be ok to start cutting back a bit, this barrel should take me through till mid week anyway.

Week 4 - Clones
The clones are making a comeback, They are for sure the most sickly looking clones I've ever made but I'm sure they will be fine. They went into coco roughly 4 days ago and were given some samurai start, I was planning on giving them rootstim but totally forgot.
Image

Just going to give them a couple more days to recover and then get the best 4 potted into 16L pots, Don't want to keep them in these small pots longer than I need to.

Hey @duke, Yeah not sure what happened really, oh well what doesn't kill them will make them stronger ;-)
Having trouble getting the lid off the prop at the moment, the t5 is drying the air out and the clones aren't liking it much, hopefully as they root they will have a better time not drying out.
thx for looking in
