Re: Springtime Sativas
Looking superb man, lovely grow. Do you have a carbon filter in there somewhere?

Re: Springtime Sativas
Thanks mate, yes, I have a Rhino Pro filter above the light and some Ona Gel by the front door in preparation for the stench of the AK-47. I read some bad things about Rhino filters though (not sure how true that is) and mine is near end of life, so open to suggestions for alternatives.

Re: Springtime Sativas
I did hear the same about Rhino. I've recently discovered systemair both their rvk fans and their filters. They are awesome, won't use anything else. I'm even thinking of overdoing it in the 2x4 and getting two fans and filters set up in prep for the tknl5haze flowering. Probably overkill but smell is an issue where I am, cannot risk it.sybarite wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 11:36 amThanks mate, yes, I have a Rhino Pro filter above the light and some Ona Gel by the front door in preparation for the stench of the AK-47. Re: Springtime Sativas
Yeah, not worth the risk. I have a Systemair rvk fan and it's good quality, but never considered their filters. Just watched a video about them and they do seem good, designed to work perfectly with their own fans. Someone mentioned they were noisier than Rhino, which would be an issue with it being in my bedroom. Have you found them noisier?Tictok wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 4:57 pmI did hear the same about Rhino. I've recently discovered systemair both their rvk fans and their filters. The problem I have in my place is high humidity, which reduces the performance of carbon filters. I don't like having to use the Ona Gel much, but keep it far from my plants and only use during harvest.

Re: Springtime Sativas
For sure, there's always one challenge or another. I haven't found them to be noisy at all and the fans are speed controllable if you buy one of those cheap speed controller plug things, so you can 'dial in the room'.sybarite wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 6:51 pmYeah, not worth the risk. Understand about humidity, one solution is trying to keep the air flow up in flower. I have a 4 inch intake fan as well as the extraction, if I turn it off the humidity goes right up so it is essential in my grow, plus keeping the air really moving inside the tent while doesn't reduce humidity it can stop damp areas forming.
If you find moisture in the inside of the tent walls anywhere, get more air moving inside the tent.

Re: Springtime Sativas
Unfortunately for me it's not that easy to control, with my whole home being stupidly humid, even with two dehumidifiers running. I think it got worse when they blocked the air bricks to stuff in cheap cavity wall insulation. Having so much stuff plus humid plants in such a small space isn't ideal, trapping in moisture and reducing air flow. Inside my tent is never damp and probably less humid than outside it due to it having decent air flow - I never get mildew or botrytis now since introducing two clip-on fans. An intake fan might help too.Tictok wrote: ↑Mon Apr 18, 2022 7:19 pmFor sure, there's always one challenge or another. Re: Springtime Sativas
Cheers @Tictok, I bought the CarboAir 50. A few other people said they were good too. I like the hanging brackets.
