Amazing set up I'm here @seymore_budz. Lights match the set up perfectly. I love the idea of NFT, never tried it but will at some point.
Sorry to hear about the dreaded grot. Bastard stuff that is.

Re: LA S.A.G.E X birthday cake X strawbanana cream NFT SOG run
Cheers @Keeno. NFT is super productive mate but like every system it has its downsides. Prime example is the root rot. In another system I may have been able to remove the plant and things would plod along but because the roots are all in one big mat, if you get root rot then it's a fucker. I managed to finish the crop using the TNC beanies but it deffo took a hit. Personally I think it's my favourite system. I can crank out a crop every 10 weeks with minimal input. I'm swapping back to a soilless mix for the next run in there as I want to run a mini pheno hunt then I'll be back on the NFT but prolly multi cropping if I find something that fits the profile.
So far so good anyway. A little larger internode spacing than I like. I think that was when I pushed the temps up a little too high when messing about with the co2 stuff.

Hey GR420,
Just a small update to mark a tank cycle. Still giving them pre-flower base feed with the solar power green, Hygrozyme and some beanies. Plants are starting to crown up now but they still stretching atm. I give them about another 4-5 days until they settle down and start to flower.
EC is now at 1.8EC and the PH was set to 5.8PH.

This is why I love N.F.T! 19 days in the system.

Re: LA S.A.G.E X birthday cake X strawbanana cream NFT SOG run
Word up GR420,
So these are 20 days since the light cycle change and we're now starting to see the buds form. So far everything is looking happy and healthy. They're still stretching a little but that should subside over the best few days.
Plants are still on a pre-flower mix for now. I'll move them over to the flowering mix at the end of next week. Full feed details are below.
Terra Aquatica Tri-Part pre?-flower mix @1.7EC
Hydrozyme @75ml/50ltr
Solar Power Green @12ml/50ltr
TNC BactorrS13 @7grm/50ltr
TNC MicorrHydro @10grm/50ltr
Hesi SuperVit @1ml/50ltr
Humidity is a little high but managing to keep VPD within acceptable ranges by slightly increasing the temprature. They're getting a little wild and need netting up ASAP. I'll get that done this evening.
Roots still looking schweet. I might start to cycle to pumps rather than leave them on 24/7 moving forward. Nutriculture will tell you whatever you do, don't cycle the pumps but to put it bluntly, I think they talk shite
Not all plant species are the same and cannabis doesn't like too much water. On top of that, reading about how pythium attacks things, the two main culprits that will invite pythium to attack are anerobic conditions around the root and too high EC. Both can weaken then roots, causing cells explode, exudates are release that attract unwanted bacteria like pythium and other nasties to thrive.
I think the issue with these nutriculture systems is that cannabis fill up the gullies with an abundance of roots and slow down the flow causing the level to rise and the roots suffocate. Years ago I used to cycle these but since then, they moved from the brick pattern to the diamond pattern which they said improved this situation but after running this system a few times, I'm not convinced.
Anyway, here's some photos.

Re: LA S.A.G.E X birthday cake X strawbanana cream NFT SOG run
Hey GR420!
Just a small update to log a resoviour cycle. These girls are officially on their flower feed now! All the other additives are the same.
I noticed a slight drop in PH on Monday. Only a. 3PH drop but I'm super paranoid about rot after the last fiasco so I crapped it a little. Since cycling last night there has been o change though so I think it was just the plants taking up more now they're into the money zone. I'll continue to monitor of course but the roots and the plants look happy. Trouble with root rot is when you see damage up top its nearly always too late to do anything.
Humidity has been very high this week due to the weather I have been putting off switching the dehumidifier on because its expensive to run but I feel like I have no choice now so that too will go on today.
Unfortunately the mother had to go :( I have two replacements though and they're doing well under the ISH100br. I'll have no trouble stashing them now as they small enough to hide :)

Pups growing a little too rapidly

Re: LA S.A.G.E X birthday cake X strawbanana cream NFT SOG run
Hey GR420,
Here's a brief update. Things are coming along nicely. This phenotype take a while to start packing on weight for some reason. It eventually catches up but it produces small but dense popcorn nugs. I'm still on the fence about keeping it. Beautiful smoke and decent yields but she's a stretcher for sure and might not be the ideal strain for this style of growing. Of course you can make it work but she's a very aggressive
PH: ~6PH
EC: ~1.6EC
Water Temp: 22C
Air Temp: ~27/20C Day/Night
Humidity: 70%
CO2 (ppm): ~600PPM
I had a slight wobble in the PH and I saw a little drop. That seems to have stabilised now and the PH is a rock solid 6PH. A sudden drop in PH is the first signs of root rot so I crapped it a bit but all good. I've decided to cycle the tank 15/15m on/off during light and 15m/2h while the lights are off. I've not noticed much change so far but I'd like to have more control over the segments so I may invest in a minutes cycle timer.
The mother has been culled (RIP) and the replacements are doing great so far. A little too good as I need them to stay small so I can stash them while work is carried out on this property. I'm gong to try and keep em in those small 8x8cm pots to try and stunt them a bit without causing too much stress.
Oh and I just got myself a UVB T8 fixture from Migro LED. We shall see if that bad boy makes a difference as I've run this strain three times now I should be able to tell.
