Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Hey Bulls,
With Ph in veg I aim for between, 5.6 to 6.0, I usually set the Ph the first week and see if it drops or rises, if its dropping the following week I will set it to 6.0 and if it drops below 5.6, I will add some liquid silicon in 2 litres of water. If I find the Ph is rising and its going well over 6.0 I would just add a little ph down, usually diluted in 2 litres of water.
In flower thou I usually have that range a bit higher, so I will set the Ph between 5.8 and 6.4, and pretty much do as above.
With recycling your nutes, and the plants taking in different levels of nutirents at different Ph points, letting your Ph swing a bit actually means your plants get a broader range of nutrients available to them :)
I have to say thou, since switching to Ionic nutes the Ph does seem a lot more stable than when I was using Canna nutes :)

Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Awesome Sam, thank you.
I got another question though. You'd probably hate me. I am asking all these questions simply because My current system would very easily allow me to change from Run To Waste to a system similar to yours.
I am currently using 2 x 8L per hour dripper per pot and using a 80L water/feed tank. If I am to redirect my runoff to be pumped into water/feed tank It will be closed system.
1) How often would you recommend complete change of the tank?
2) How much of that water/feed solution would the plants actually drink if I run them 2 hrs daily?
3) Do I just top up the difference?
4) If I am to top up the difference, of let's say 20Liters in 2 days, do you just mix these 20L of top up the usual way (Let's say you in veg and adding 2ml per L room stim and 1ml per L A &B)
Sorry about all the questions lol

Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Hey Bulls,
As Nanoock of the North said, I do a res change every 7 days, thats just the habbit I am in now :)
What might be worth you doing is putting one of your drippers in an empty 1 litre pop bottle and see how long this takes to fill up. This will let you know the flow rate into your pots, and then you can adjust feeding by that :)
My dripeprs run about half a litre through them a minute, so I generally feed for 15 minutes with 18 litre pots, but that is with 3 drippers per pot :)
Happy to help with the qustions if I can fella :)
As with normal feeding in coco its better to have the drippers run longer and totally flush the pots, than run them not enough, and end up with salt build up :(

Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Hi Folks,
Just a very quick update as I done a reservoir change last night, so this feed is as below:
35ml of Ionic Hard Water Grow
25ml of Liquid Silicon
1 tsp RAW Amino acids
1 tsp of RAW humic acid
1 tsp of RAW kelp Extract
Base EC = 0.6
Ec = 0.9
Ph = 6.0 (as dropping a few points over the week)
I have cut the RAW Amino acids down to 1tsp this feed, and I have also dropped the PM Root Stim this week, and added the Kelp and humic acid as an extra boost. Kelp and humic acid work excellently together, and kelp alone has over 30 nutrient trace elements usually not included in other nutrient mixes. In general i will use the PM root stim every feed, but every 3rd week or feed, I will add the humic acid and Kelp for the nutrient boost. Adding this now means I should be able to get another feed with kelp and humic acids before I flip in 3/4 weeks time :)
I will do my usual update tomorrow, with the weekly comparison pictures so you can see the growth in the last 7 days, I think you will all be surprised just how much these have visabily grown in a week :)
Have a good one folks, one more day till Friday :)

Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Thanks for the heads up Sam. It's very important to get all these trace elements in the plants. I really think most of the work is done during vegetable stage and then in flower we are just cruising with the right amount of PK :)

Re: Samwise does Humboldt Green Crack
Hi Folks,
So its Friday again, and time for my weekly update, this is the plants last week, and as they are today :)
26th October

02 November

I always think that the growth in coco in some ways can be just as good as in DWC, as when you get the feed and the environment correct its mental how these much these can grow in 7days :)
Hope everyone has a great weekend :)
