Re: Going organic
If you want to reduce the chloramine in the water without adding citric acid there is also a thing called a HMA filter. I buy them from finer filters. They the first half of an RO machine really. The fist half removes sediment and the second one is activated carbon. No flow restriction, will fit onto 4mm pipe and work great. The set is £8 if you're UK. Much better than the whopping £75 Swell want

Re: Going organic
Well troops ordered the aqua dechlorinator the other day and it arrived this morning. That company swell was looking 50 quid on top of the price to deliver it lol good ole amazon to the rescue with free delivery. Soon as it arrived i wired her all up and ran near 50L through it first to clear any debris through just incase, then ran through and gathered around 60L and have it stored in a big black bin next to the groom which I can take 3 of 4 litres from at a time for feeding the 2 pots. I then decided to wire up the blulab guardian ph/ec/temp meter to compare the filtered water to my water straight from the tap
Water straight from tap
Ec 0.1/0.2
Ph 6.7-6.9
Filtered water
Ec 0.1
Ph 6.7
So very very similar if not the exact same
Have just filled the black bin so water is at 9 degrees which you can see on meter but I have added the water heater to get temp up ready for feeding in the morning

Re: Going organic
Having a bit of a nightmare the past couple of days. So the day after I uploaded the last set of pictures I fed the pots 2L as usual. Then when I went back in the room an hour later the tray had alot of run off in it so I quickly emptied it and thought nothing of it, just thought I had maybe added a little too much water. The next day however I noticed alot of the leaves had started to curl at the tips new growth and old, and also the older bigger fan leaves have started to twist. From what I have read I believe I have over watered. Getting really disheartened cause I keep messing things up no matter how cautious I am and trying to follow everything. And from past experience soon as things start going wrong with them its very hard to correct it (especially in soil from what I have read)
I will get some pictures uploaded in an hour or so but genuinely think iv bite off too much than I can handle and jumped into the deep end before I learnt how to swim :(

Re: Going organic
Don't sweat it mate. dry your soil out, assess your plants condition over the next few days. If they don't make it once your soil is at reasonable moisture level start over.
Think about it like this, you're half way there. You got off to a banging start, now all you need to do is judge the water correctly.
Peat moss holds a lot of water, how do you check if it needs it? You can water and sometimes not need to touch it for days. All you need is slightly moist, if you poke a finger in and it's not bone dry you're good. If not a decent moisture meter will give you a visual to look at.
You'll be fine. I think we've all had a few disasters from time to time.

Re: Going organic
Cheers buddy thanks for the message. Your girls look amazing btw
just put the dehumidifier in the room there to help them dry out. I had noticed over the past week when I felt the fabric pot that the bottom is really wet but the rest of the pot seemed fine. Think I'm gonna invest in a good moisture meter to keep me right mate Now that I think about it its my own fault, I was just following that 11 day feeding schedule and not testing the moisture levels in the soil. Think from now on I will still follow the feeding schedule but only add whats on there when the moisture meter says if that makes sense

Re: Going organic
Morning troops so thankfully I think the girls are looking better and coming back around. Alot of the curled over leaf tips have straightened out, however still not out of the woods yet they are alot perkier normal looking again. Took a few pics this morning for you, a side on one and one from the top
Now I just have to figure out when to start feeding again literally gonna just mist the post from now on lol
