I'm just off to see about some bags big enough to use for this too. If the Capt can make it work in his semi senile stoned out of his tree 24/7 mentally deranged state... I'm sure anyone can lol

Smashed cake #3 is looking female. On another note, all my cuttings in the TurboKloner are either dead or near death. Too many combinations of detrimental errors made have sucked the life out at day 14. The cuts using the Captain’s method at day four seem fine. Next update, I will explain all steps I take to ensure success…for another attempt.

After trashing the cuts I was trying to clone, I’ve done a few things to clean equipment or eliminate pathogens, etc…
1. Treated RO reservoir with cap of bleach
2. Cleaned TurboKloner with Clear Rez
3. Added Clear Rez (30mil) to cloning solution

With the cloning temps reaching 74°F, I need to keep the water as sterile as possible. For a minimal price I could use distilled water, but that would require trips to the store every four days. Also, I added a label to check misters every water change – that will mistake-proof one error made on this clone run.

Summary of status is as follows per seed start.
1. Two Capt’s clones. Pending 2/25. Three new TurboKlone cuts.
2. Confirmed female. One available clone. One new TurboKlone cut.
3. Confirmed female. No available clones. One new TurboKlone cut.
4. Two Capt’s clones. Pending 2/25. Three new TurboKlone cuts.

After all the cleaning and fuss, I’ve been patiently babysitting this TurboKloner. If the pump power cord isn’t sitting just right, the cloner can leak a gallon of water overnight. So, a few touchy days in all that now lead me to see I need to scrub the unit down again! I can see a white mold developing in the external cracks of some collars. After a few days, the white color is turning green. So I decided to stop at the dollar store to start stocking up on distilled water…and they had none on the shelves.

Day 11 one TurboKlone cut #4 showing root. Day 15 of the Capt’s clones roots protruding on cut#4.
Day 12 one TurboKlone cut #4 showing multiple roots. Day 16 of the Capt’s clones roots still protruding on cut#4.
Day 13 one TurboKlone cut #4 transplanted. Day 17 of the Capt’s clones roots still protruding on cut#4.
Day 14 zero TurboKlone cuts have rooted except one. Day 18 of the Capt’s clones roots protruding on both of cut#4. Cut #1 for the Capt’s clones pending 2/25 but nothing visible yet.

Verdict...the Captain’s method is superior and the clones remain fresh in the bag. I can now run a tester for #4 to determine sex. I’ll wait until D21 to see what happens with the rest of the cuts…and get distilled water.

A week ago, I took a weekend ski trip and returned to the #1 cuts having rooted – one Capt’s and one TurboKlone. Testing #4 in flower now…which has been joined by #1 for a few days. No sign of gender yet…
Put a few cuts of #3 in a bag; pending 3/25. Rooted cuts of all others. At this point, I’ll prepare for a flower run but it’ll be some time before a spot is open.

Not that it’s easily visible, but both remaining cuts are female. So that’s four F1 females to pick and choose from once I flower them out.

One more picture of the testers which have probably had 30-40 days in flowering.
