Dying roots - what's causing it?

Post by Bulls »

Good morning everyone.
I am having a small issue recently with the roots of my cuttings. I think it's the hot weather causing it but I mightbe wrong?
I usually root my cuttings in aero prop with 100% rate and then move then into coco. Never had any issues until this summer.
A week later in the coco and the roots are dead and you can pull the plant straight put.

That below is how they look before going into coco

Image

Then they look the same but without roots

What are your thoughts? I was thinking to add liquid oxygen to the feed?

If I were going into coco I’d trim the roots so the chance of them breaking off during repotting and rotting was lessened

Quite possibly it could be lack of oxygen this time of year although rootage does look mighty fine in your picture. I use h202 myself once or twice weekly in bloom after stretch is over, i grow in coco too, but tis more used for an oxygen boost type thing. Basically it won`t hurt at all using the stuff.

I am just rooting some new ones @2-Scoops and will add h202 to see if that makes a difference.

Aeroponic roots are water roots. Use dome or plastic baggie overtop of planted coco clone for first week. Saturate medium.
