I've had a rough play around in manual mode but like you say I think some sort of course going forward will definitely get me off on the right foot.

Thanks for the generous offer mate but unfortunately I do live in the uk
No worries mate, if i could i would help you out for sure.
But do try to find a good online course to get you started, it is a good investment if you really are into photography.

Good Luck

I use an old 70-300 zoom lens with a 50mm prime attached to the front and a bit of superglue. :oik!:

I'll dig it out later.
im more of a tape man lol

This one here would be a good option for your Canon:
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/port ... -macro-usm

And if money isn't an option at all this one here is just amazing at macros:
https://www.usa.canon.com/internet/port ... acro-photo

Or you could just go for something like this:
https://www.digitalcameraworld.com/buyi ... hotography

Hope that helps

A couple of macro shots I took last night. I use a apexel 100mm macro lens with a stabilised gimble with a clip on ring light, ill stick a pic up of it later. It does the job but just doesn't have the sharpness and clarity of a dedicated macro lens and dslr. Normally have to adjust the zoom on my phone for best balance between sharpness and shakiness

Not bad at all @Ukbudz. They do lack some sharpness though but over time i'm sure you get that as well.

@Trex None of those lenses shown act as a macro lens. You might be able to get close but i would say not close enough.
