Time for my forth Grow Diary in which I will be attempting to grow some very special seeds:-

Dex's Animal Cookies -

A potent strain with some famous genetics, Animal Cookies - sometimes also known as Animal Crackers -- is a relatively recent indica hybrid. Bred by Canadian seed bank BC Bud Depot, it is a cross between perennial favorite Girl Scout Cookies and indica hybrid Fire OG. Animal Cookies has multicolored flowers and a complex sweet-sour scent. It has heavy, almost narcotic indica effects, providing pain relief, relaxation, and sleep.

This will be a 'Canna Cookie Grow' for the 'Dex's Animal Cookie Grow Out!' competition.

Massive thank you to @Dex for the opportunity to grow this strain which has nothing but great reviews from what I have read (apparently not recommended for non hard core smokers) lol.

The flavour profile sounds wicked:-
Cookie Dough, Cherry Coke, Vanilla, Peppery, Citrus, Herbal, Pine

@Dex has an awesome thread about how he created these feminised seeds which is a really interesting read, so make sure to check that out if you haven't already.



Current plan is to grow two of these in 15 litre Pots using the AutoPot system using a mix of Coco, Perlite & Clay Pebbles:-

• 70% Canna COCO Professional Plus
• 20% Canna Aqua Clay Pebbles
• 10% Plant!t Perlite

I will be using the following Nutrients / additives:-

• Canna Start (seedlings)
• Canna A + B
• Canna Rhizotonic
• Canna Zym
• Canna PK 13/14
• Canna Boost
• Canna CalMag
• Liquid Silicone
• Rock Resignator
• Dynomyco

As I am going with Canna for the Medium and Canna for the Nutrients and because they have a cool Grow Guide I will be using 80% of the 'Canna Recommended Lighter Feeding Nutrient Schedule' (adjusted to 80% as even the lighter feeding schedule seemed a little heavy):-



Yesterday I dropped a couple of the seeds into water:-




And this morning they both sank (after a little poke) so were put into paper towels on top of the fridge. I have so far had a 100% germination rate germinating this way so fingers crossed we should have some baby Animal Cookies in a couple of days ;o)

My first very welcome follower - Thank you mate.

I like to shove in a load of info at the start to save the obvious questions later and also so I can refer back to it myself - being a stoner and all that ;o)

They do sound lush, the more I read up on reviews the more awesome they sound! Definitely a strain I want to try as nothing really does it for me at the moment (in terms of getting me to sleep) and would love a 'knock out' smoke which this certainly sounds like it is. I 'canna' wait (the puns will be many)...

The stronger the better I say hehe. Knock out bud is what am after since getting it street is pricey and tastes like dog lol.

honestly dont think ya gonna get anywhere near the ml volumes planned in all honestly. 1.5ml per litre is usually the heaviest Id go with A+B when using PK etc through flower. but i could be reading the chart wrong. i hate feed schedule with a passion tho

I have no idea what I am doing mate, and that is the point, but it is literally the Cana Recommendation, then adjusted down for the lighter feed option, then adjusted down again by minus 20% as I thought it was still too high. I just think I have to try it to see what the feck these schedules are about! If I can control the heat then the rest should be 'Canna Close' to what they are suggesting so we shall see what following the recommended schedule does. At the very least I will understand how to adjust said schedule as there is so much conflicting information etc,

Compared to my original adjusted chart from Canna:-


The duplicate figures in the last two columns are the recommended in red with the -20% adjustment shown above.
Actual dosing figures where achieved by using a res size of 0.8 litres (i.e. 20% less once dosed per litre)

Shows the Royal Queen Seeds recommendations coming in higher than the Canna recommendations (on the lighter schedule at least) and what I plan on using is 20% less than that. So it's kinda a guessing game anyway.

To be honest I would rather follow a strict recommendation and see what it does (being strict I will have all the figures to both adjust and document). I need to know for myself how far I can push them and if it goes wrong then so be it - got plenty of seeds and I have 3 more Dex's seeds if it goes totally 'Pete Tong' but hopefully I can adjust as I go in time so that they at least survive.



But I'm gonna 'Find Out' so might as well take one for the team/learning ;o)
