Multi Strain: SSDD, Sensi Star and First Cross (NF)

Post by Tictok »

After battling with spider mites, ditching over 100ltrs of soil, blasting the tents with bleach, then predator mites we are back.

Longest downtime in a while, but needed to happen.
Figured this lot can go in one diary so apologies for the long post.

2 x 4 tent (with a 2 x 2 on standby)
Voost VR120 leds throughout
AC Infinity in the 2 x 4 with controller

Image

Sunshine Daydream F4s from our man @Marcus 3 of 4 broke ground so far. Very honoured to grow these, hens teeth now so massive props to M for getting these out.

SSDD baby..
Image

Sensi Star from Paradise. I lost the 5 I got from the store due to the mites, so straight onto our sponsor ABSeedy and the discount code paid for quick delivery. Running 2 (far left in the first pic).

My first cross (Northern Lights x Guerilla Fumé), I'm calling it Northern Fumé..... here's the NL5 mother from The Green Stash in Calli..
Image

This mother was a frost monster that reeked of grapefruit, best weed to date but low yielding.
The Guerilla Fumé father was selected from two males with this one being a strong branchy thin leaf monster. GF has large trichomes with thick sticky resin. I'm hoping to get that with the frost of the mother.

Listening to The Rev from skunk magazine his selection process starts by examining the cotyledon leaves for density of hairs, stating the this represents the density of trichomes in flower, especially good for male selection.

Here's 3 of the NF babies..
Image

Image

This one seems less dense with cotyledon hairs..

Will be interesting to monitor.

Thanks for checking in. Good to be back.

You sir, are more than welcome! Hopefully the predator mites have hoovered up any stray spider mites eggs.

This round everything will get a weekly spray of soluble neem as a pest management approach.

Thank you both, it's good to be back.

Ultimately, with the new cross, is to try and stabalise the line and then send out as many seeds as possible. Will take some doing but the love needs to be spread.

Not seen damage like that before but maybe because I've not seen up that close, very cool picture Toctok.

Good luck with this one TickethMcTocketh.

I'll be hiding behind the curtains and keeping a beady eye on things.

Nope, it's my bad, didn't plant the seeds deep enough and most broke ground will the seed shell well and truly intact. Was a delicate operation removing them that I delivered with all the finess of a surgeon....using a sledgehammer.

Token update to log the expressions of the new cross (NF1-6). If I can identify traits at this stage it should help with early selection in future runs, so apologies for posting just seedlings..

Interesting that these were all popped at the same time..
Image

Observing hair density on the cotyledons (to give indication of frost levels in flower) most interested in NF5 (whether male or female), it even has tiny resin glands showing (hard to see in this pic)..

NF5
Image

NF6 is either a mutant or I caused damage removing the shell, either way could be interesting (looking for leftfield expressions so could be good)..
Image

NF3&4 are very similar at this early stage..
NF3

NF4
Image

NF 1 & 2 are showing the most vigour so we've either got hybrid vigour showing, or they are male!

NF2

NF1

The 4th Sunshine Daydream has broken ground!

And the Sensi Star are just doing their thing...

Cheers for dropping by.
