I talked myself out of doing another diary this year, then talked myself back into it again, I'm that persuasive!
A bit of an experiment this time, recycling GHO soil from several previous runs, adding extra aeration to the left pot, which looks a bit like bark chips but not that. I'll try to find out what it is. I believe the idea is that larger particles create a better environment for microorganisms, as well as improving aeration, reducing compaction and adding silica, iirc. I also added biochar to that pot, which I have never used before. The left pot with the new stuff cooked much hotter than the right, being 45 C and 30 C respectively, despite adding equal quantities of all other amendments. For the first time I'm also using the tarps that came with the Greensmart pots instead of a cover crop. We shall see how long that lasts.
The strains, all fems:
Double Strawberry Diesel Jones by Connoisseur Genetics - from seed, never grown before.
Orinoco by Medical Marijuana Genetics - from seed, grown before and one of my top five strains.
Shiva's Soul by Trichome Jungle - from seed, never grown before.
Watermelon Zkittlez by Purple City Genetics (apparently a S1 of a Dying Breed cut) - from clone from previous run, poor yield but very nice, dense buds and a great smoke. This time it's in the pot with the extra aeration and not sharing the pot with the lanky, life-sucking Ghost Train (Drain) Haze I had previously, so hoping yields will improve, but it's a finicky plant, so expectations are low.
The plants have all been topped after 4th node, then again after 3rd and given some LST. The scrog net will be lowered at some point soon.
I’ll pop into the corner and watch along , good luck hun
