Now Blue skies is a pretty controversial guy on the scene and gets a lot of hate it seems but lets try and let the genetics speak for them selves. He's a uk breeder who went public a couple years or so ago claiming to have real deal old skool roadkill type skunk genetics, now i wont go into the ins and outs of the whole story as to why he's so hated by many, as that is a whole rabbit hole i'd rather not go down and i just want to keep this about the genetics, let the plants speak to us!!!! ,i'm just trying to find that inspiring, happy, loose your keys, giggle with your friends sort high weed that i grew up smoking, some of that proper permeating stinky stink, some proper rank dank
So the genetics Blue skies is offering are basically packs of breeding stock/open pollenation/preservation stuff that were made from things he found when running big F2 populations of lines made from the breeder Old timer1 ,a legendary but very private uk breeder that worked and collected landrace and heirloom genetics from all over the world from the late 60's to early 2000's i think it was,Old timer1 never released many beans but he did a few times thru auctions for the server fund at the forum uk420 years ago,Blue skies got some of these beans in the early00's i understand and slowly popped and worked with the lines over the following years,he got a few different varieties but the beans i got from him stem from Old timer1's ESB Haze line ,which was a cross of pre amsterstam skunk, pre dj short blueberry, some sort of african maybe and probably the most excitingly Haze, but Haze not from the same origins as sam's aka nevilles and every other dutch seedbank..real santa cruz haze lines from another source ...none of Oldtimer1's work ever went or came from amsterdam,he kept it all seperate and pure, thats what makes this so exciting,so basically Blue skies f2'd the ESB Haze from what i gather and as you may know when you pop the resulting beans you then get to see all of the recessive genes from all the parents of the lines and all the resulting variations of them popping up as different phenos,if you wanna know whats in a line then f2 it (or self it) but that's a whole other topic lol.So yes, this is why these beans are said contain real deal skunk and haze as those things were found in technically a 'pure form' again as pheno's popping out of those f2's,isolated and then in turn bred with to make the seeds on offer today,i hope youre with me,sorry this is long... but bare with me ..
I bought a pack of his 'Terp town tickets' and was kindly sent a pack of the 'Boss' skunk for free as well and baring in mind that pack was worth 180 dollars or something on its own i thought that was pretty damn generous.
The Terp town tickets are the result of 60 to 70 of the best mothers from the huge outdoor seed pop,Hazes, skunks and crosses of each and everything in between, with smells from rotting meat, onions to garilc, amonia, skunk spray, chemical cleaner, dead body, burnt rubber, fuel ect ..the whole range of the skunk type terps, also many unknown heirloom type varities, fruit type terps, blueberry, strawberry, mango, guava, vomit, shit, dogshit, baby shit, cocaine(thats a new one lol) and smells apparently you never even smelled before, all that crossed to a classic skunk male.
The Boss pack stands for' Blueskies OT1 Skunk selection' and is the result of 5 different skunk females put to a different skunk male ,so not quite so much variation to be found as the terp towns, well nowhere near but more focused on the skunk terps, none of these are worked lines they are technically breeding stock that he just put out to try and shut the haters up i think ,so lets see what we find...
There are 4 of the Boss skunks initially and they will be potted up this week for a weeks veg in the flower room then flipped, they are around 5 weeks old now i think. They have been on the new lighting schedule that i've been trying out for their whole lives so far and they loving it,..the one that i posted about earlier today if you want to read about the details, the 12 and 1 veg cycle... they will also be put on the 8/16 going down to 6/18 flower cycle for seedlings mentioned in the post as well.
I have cuts rooted of pretty much all 4 of them and so these seed plants will be put in a room alongside 3 of my Banana sauce cuts,so if i'm unlucky with the male ratio then i still got enough in there, ive been topping them and trying to keep them smallish until the space has become available to flower them, they have been in 11L pots of Biobizz all mix for around 2.5 weeks under a 100w spider farmer panel ...waffled on enough now guys sorry but just wanted to give you the whole back story behind these beans...here are the little beauties...
here they are at 1 week, damn these things popped fast like within 48hrs and yes this i think this could be even 1 week after planting!
After about 2.5 weeks, just a couple days after being put in these 11L'S
Here they are after about 5 weeks ( a couple days ago) as you can see we have 2 much shorter and 2 more on the taller side..
From watching and being around these plants i can tell you that they are indeed something different from we are used too, very unique looking and some very crazy leaf sets as well..
Pheno #1, very Gnarly and jagged looking indeed,a few little double serrations..
Pheno #2 the other taller one, lovely structure, stretchy and branchy..this one has the most exciting leaf sets, check out the double serrations man
Pheno #3 really dark almost blackish blue color to it,one of the the shorter ones, looking kind of more afghani type maybe?
and last but not least Pheno #4,shortest of the bunch by quite a margin,a different color still, more kind of emerald green, short but branchy and bushy all the same
These shots were taken a few days back and since defoliated them a bit and cleaned em up further and they are really taking off, will post more pics at end of week when they potted up and in the flower space, cheers for enduring all that everyone,'im super excited to see what comes of these,oh and i've got 3 terp town ticket seedlings going too now so will post on here about them prob next week as well, thanks again....Bimble :thx:
