Re: Landrace Adventures
About time for an update, I was waiting for a soil delivery.
So the two Highland Thai have been flipped in the 2x2 to start with in a 13 dark 11 light cycle.
The larger one which was started earlier I'm 95% certain is female with the hint if some pistels showing already. Not what I wanted but she's a lovely plant. Lst'd to get her as low as possible before the stretch.
The other taller Thai has only just been potted up from a 1ltr so was showing some deficiency (they are very hungry plants). Cover crop not grown yet either. Topped and will monitor as not showing sex yet, hoping for a male.

Meanwhile in the 2x4 (now a veg tent) the Kandahar in the 1ltr pot has shown to be male but will keep it going in case there are two female Thai (so the cross will be made, just the other way round).
Other two Kandahar are doing alright, one has the edge being a larger pheno at this stage.
The Kandahar are on the right and the male is in the small pot. The other plants have only just been potted up so will green up in a day or so.

Male

So a nice mellow water only vegging few weeks to follow while the 2 x 2 gets filled with stretching Thai ! Fingers crossed that Thai is a male.
I'm waiting on two new humidifiers so spraying a lot to keep the humidity up.
Thanks for checking them out

Re: Landrace Adventures
Hey all, quick update mainly environment related....
The Thai seeds from The Real Seed Company were collected from the Bolikhamsai province so checking the environment in that area gives the following;

So temps are pretty normal but a higher humidity than I'm used to in the flowering period. So out with the humidifier and the tent is now averaging about 60% RH and an improvement if vigour has occurred.

The younger plant is definitely male which was the goal, no signs on the bigger pheno yet, suspect it might be female.
The Kandahar in veg are good (three to the right in the pic below) although the small pot pheno is male so will be culled and the smaller pheno in the bigger pot I suspect is also male. Fingers crossed this leaves the larger pheno to be female.

(Ignore the other plants, nothing to see here ..
  )
Thanks for dropping by.

Re: Landrace Adventures
Nice. I'll look that up, many thanks PetG.
It's a very long term project but trying to get some f1 hybrid vigour going on and move away from the polyhybrid crosses.
Quite how the logistics of pollination is going to happen is anyone's guess, but I'm carrying on regardless.
Thanks for the input.

Re: Landrace Adventures
Good job I just listened to that, thanks for the recommendation.
Turns out "The One" was a Thai stick female and a Kandahar male! Not the other way round. That will teach me to believe the interweb!
The good news is the stem rub of Kandahar male in the small pot totally reeks and it has great branching so should make a good dad.
Thanks again @Pet G , much appreciated.
