Greetings all,

So all the plants in the room except for little Gelato OG have now been harvested and are hang drying at the moment. :harvest:

The next run of plants have been put into flower. The purple Gelato OG is easy to pick out, she has gone very dark late in flower. She is currently at day 59.

Look out for the next dairy. I'll be back for a weight report once everything is dried and jarred.

Hey, here's a quick update. The little Gelato OG came down last night at day 70. She was purple & stinking by then. She's hanging line drying in the dry tent.

All the other flowers were taken off the line last night. I'm trying a new "curing technique" on this run. So I normally chop, hang for 10-14 days and then trim before putting straight into the jars.. But we are doing somthing different on this run. That method has worked fairly well, but I noticed somtimes the terps are as good as I feel they should be 6 weeks later.

So on this run I'm trying Notsodogs curing method. The main difference to the standard method previously listed comes down to curing. Apparently curing occurs when the flower is still attached to the stem. Also when going straight from the line to drying you risk fermentation, as there is, no where for the excess moisture to escape while the flower equalises. Soooo once I lined dried for 2 weeks, I cut the branchs into manageable chunks and then put them all into brown paper bags, about half full and folded over to seal. Then all the paper bags have been stacked in black trash bags and loosely tied to allow air exchange.

By the flower staying on the branch in the paper bags they will cure for at least another 2 weeks before the final trim and jarring. The brown paper bags are breathable and allow to cure and dry. Also by stack in the paper you avoid the pressure that comes from stuffing flowers on top of one another straight into the jar. I'm always trying to find ways to improve my final product. I'll give an update later on how this turned out

Cheers! Mafoo thanks man. Yeah I'm interested to see how this cure method works out too. I just found that the current method works, but I have varying results even when I think I did everything right. I still get hints of hay smell, or terp that doesn't pop as much as it should, or just not as complete a profile as it should, when neighbouring plants treated exactly the same, came out better.

This method comes from Notsodog, he mentioned it on his podcast recently. I respect the hell out of what that guy has to say & his growing experience, so I thought I'd give it a shot.

Also interested in how this turns out. I accidentally did this myself one run where I'd jarred up some Guerilla Fume too early and the hygrometer read 75%. Stuck them in brown paper bags for a while and then jarred up nearer 62%.

Results were great.
