Re: Peanut Butter Breath by Thug Pug
All right, so it’s been about a week since I transplanted these into the 3.9 gallon pots. Directions say to continue top feed for 7 to 10 days. I figured I’d take it another week, but I’m going to prepare the system sometime today.
pH will be 5.8. I’ll use the same nutrient amounts at a half a teaspoon per gallon V1 and V2. I could use Calmag, but I haven’t decided if I will or not on this run.
I’m not convinced though that bottom feeding is the way to go. With Coco I would think you would want some hydraulic pressure from the feeding solution trickling down the roots. But will give it a swing and see how it goes. Lots of vegging to do.
@Marcus I’ll be sure to check all the connections too.

I finally got a slap worth keeping. Thanks @Keeno.

Re: Peanut Butter Breath by Thug Pug
I like it when I sling a litre of feed on top of a pot of coir and I can watch it bubbling away replacing all that stale air with fresh o2.
With the autopots I ended up with a kinda swamp smell in the house. But I was away for a week or so and it must have all gone tits up with the system before I even set it up knowing my luck.
I wasn't taking the piss with the connector BTW, even though that cruel fucker @Keeno has gone full piss take with it now. I think he's getting you a T Shirt made up with that picture on the front and me quoted saying "Good Luck!".
Shit, I may have ruined your xmas prezzie off him.

@Cave Hill Cole didn’t happen to mention the swamp smell problem that I remember. I can put some Hydro guard in the reservoir which may help a little bit. Maybe they have some Febreze aqua edition.Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 5:33 pm

And you’re definitely taking the piss out of me with the connection that I fucked up. I was told to buy a 2 x 4 plastic drain do hickey. The grow shop wanted $96 for it. I said forget that let it leak.

Re: Peanut Butter Breath by Thug Pug
It was a Marcus problem. I came home to 1 yellow plant and one green one. Both on the same res.
The yellow plant's coir rootball was a scent of swamp and a lovely shade of avocado green. The wife had the bathroom painted in that colour soon after. My toilet antics led to the swamp smell that still lingers.
I'd be tempted to be adding h2o2 of sorts to the res, just incase.
Are you using airstones in the bottom of the pots?

Air domes. No I am not using them. Now that I see how they are used, I might definitely consider adding them on in future Grows. That would definitely give them the Bobby dazzler effect.Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 6:01 pmIt was a Marcus problem. I came home to 1 yellow plant and one green one. Both on the same res.

Re: Peanut Butter Breath by Thug Pug
@anova.330 did you get the ec readings on the amounts of powdered nutrients you've added? Would be handy to know what x amount does, especially as your using ro water.
Keep the cal mag ready but don't add any just yet. Do you have any Epsom salts about? Calmag in coco is fuckery of the highest order for me. A decent nutrient range will have enough in the base nutrients. Epsom salts helps the plants take up what's on the base nutrients. I'd like to teach you my "loading up" method if you are up for it. Your grow may be slightly different though as its ro and my water is toxic waste glow in the dark shit.
As you are under led I expect you to see the start of cal mag in around 2 weeks. A foliar feed of Epsom salts for 2 days in a row should make the cal in the base nutrients more available and fix the issue without having to add that narly cal mag shit. That foliar feed is then repeated around a week before flip and a week after flip, that will load them up good for flower.
What percentage is the led on?

Re: Peanut Butter Breath by Thug Pug
I've seen a good few add air stones to these Auto pots. I'm definitely in the top feed camp, I told a certain person how to build a wilma but he was to busy trying to gain the attentions of a certain @Cave Hill Cole. Its no secret anova has posters of Cole on his bedroom wall and makes Mrs anova talk to him in a kiwi accent. While there is no arguing with Coles incredibly good growing and he is in Auto pots, technically where he is is upside down on the other side of the planet, sooooooo Coles bottom feeding is actually top feeding. It's a upside down kinda wilma, I know, it's confusing to grasp the upside down'ness of it all. It simple terms cole is actually top feeding so anova bottom feeding will just end up with him producing more seeds and 7g plants.Marcus wrote: ↑Sat Dec 02, 2023 6:01 pmIt was a Marcus problem. I've blown my own mind replying to this. I'm off to stare at myself in the mirror for a few hours
