Seems a shame to me to chop them now you've come this far Rik, maybe just go for one more week to see if the buds swell, then chop if not? I totally understand why you would prefer to chop now and get the soil ready for the next run, but if I wasn't in any rush I would keep them going a bit longer.

I'd put it into hash most probablyseymore_budz wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 3:11 pmThe issue he has is that throwing a load of salt fertiliser in there might upset the soil if he wants to regenerate and go again in the same media. Starting over might be the right choice here as there's not long left to recover. You will get some decent bud sti though so if he's against bottle feeding, I would personally just finish the grow. You'll still get a return rather than binning it all.sybarite wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 3:07 pmMy mate swears by Ionic, especially for newbies, as I understand it's quite hard to mess up with that. If the above is the issue then stop messing with the living soil and get the salts out

Re: Living Soil Organic Grow 75L
You really know your stuff @seymore_budz.
Just occurred to me reading this that salt build ups must actually come from the chelated salts in the feed, I always thought it was a by product from the plant that just needs to be flushed out, like human excrement in a way that just needs washing away hence the need to maintain runoff in coco.
Makes sense that it comes from the feed and that’s why you get nute burn not from the feed but from the salt build up

Re: Living Soil Organic Grow 75L
So the buildup actually comes from the salt itself. The media will hold onto that and 9/10 the plant ain't consuming it all so it builds up over time. Chelates actually pull salt through the media. Chelating agents like EDTA are "sticky" as in they attach themselves to the salts. That's why less is more and run-off is recommended when it comes to growing with products like Ionic and Plant Magic Soil and even coco although coco acts slightly different.Vador wrote: ↑Sat Feb 19, 2022 4:02 pmYou really know your stuff @seymore_budz.
