Re: Twisted first hydro attempt
Sorry Twisted. Was loses in lists and Xmas comps.
I always leave stripping any of the lower growth till stretch has stopped. You'll be surprised how much of the lower growth will get to the canopy level once its in stretched. Once stretch has stopped I get stripping.

Re: Twisted first hydro attempt
I know its a long way off but just wanted to ask about flushing at the end, in soil.i obviously just use plain water for a week or 2 but in the flood and drain how does it work?
My thoughts are atm I'm changing the res weekly but when I flush with plain water do I need to change the res daily? Or maybe 2-3times a week? Or just stay weekly

Re: Twisted first hydro attempt
Ive not grown in full water before, but in coco which is hydro to some extent, I just flush plain water daily. The difference is your plants are sat in that same water for longer periods of time than a full flush. In a recirculating system in coco you would indeed change the tanks as you would be flushing built up nutrients back into the res when putting fresh water through it. An uneducated presumption for full water from myself would be do the normal 10-14 days of plain water, and change the tank half way. If you dropped feed even slightly, your plants would start to flush out. So dropping it completely will have the desired effect. I cant see a reason as to why the plants would then leech water back into the res, and there is no built up fed in any medium. So changing it halfway through the flush should do it nicely.Twisted wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 7:14 amI know its a long way off but just wanted to ask about flushing at the end, in soil.i obviously just use plain water for a week or 2 but in the flood and drain how does it work?

Re: Twisted first hydro attempt
Just put plants on water only feeds last 10days to 2 weeks of bloom and jobs a good en, very simple to do, just keep rezz topped with water. Just change it weekly if needs be but i doubt it will need doing, no sweat.Twisted wrote: ↑Tue Jan 03, 2023 7:14 amI know its a long way off but just wanted to ask about flushing at the end, in soil.i obviously just use plain water for a week or 2 but in the flood and drain how does it work?

As for lollipopping I've always done it around 2 weeks into bloom cus i cant get plants out of my small room that they are in at 3 weeks, but even when im growing in larger spaces ive done the 2 week thing, basically i lollipop shit loads away cus they still stretching like good ens at 2 weeks in. Also i whip away shit loads of fan leaves from what's left behind and i redo it again around 7 weeks in if needs be, but usually its not called for, so long as i can see light all the way through down to floor im happy.
Aim at stripping bottom 3rd away around 3 weeks in and whip a shit load of fan leaves off again too. Tbh I`d prolly do it around 3 weeks in if it was possible, but then again its how I've always done it at 2 weeks in so feck knows. I always net plants at 2 weeks in so they can still grow through net just enough to support plants and big buds. Both ways seem to work out fine so take your pick mukka int it
My current grow was done at at 10 days into bloom cus they were big plants in my small area.
