I’m high as ballz and bored so I’m gonna ramble a bit about my lights.
I never really pushed lights in my grows, would sorta eyeball everything and just hope I didn’t burn the plants up.
This year I started using recommended distances and ppfd charts in an effort to get the most bang for my buck and ive definitely noticed a positive difference in end result.
One of the hacks I use to help me set a good light distance and maintain it thru the grow is to measure out the ratchet ropes holding my light up and use them as markers for light distance.
For example dr coco recommends a distance of 13” in flower using the mars fc4800.
I set my ropes at 13” and I’ll adjust the plants to try and maximize the light they’re getting.
By Sunday I’ll have everything in its ideal zone, but the next couple days I just want to let the plants get used to the stronger light.
I got a par meter and I’ll use it to double check but once it’s set I wanna forget about it.
Seems to be working for me.
Do you all try and maximize your lights or just wing it???
