Ta @2-Scoops, snappable is a good word! I'll try it next time the canopy's uneven. I'm desperate for a decent yield after the last couple so don't wanna mess too much until I've built confidence with the new system. The Zkitzo buds that are about an inch from the light are loving it there, such a weird plant, the way it was all mutant with twisted, streaky/blotchy leaves in veg, seeming to hate intense light and the reason I never took cuttings, but now look at her go, Zkitzo indeed! Once this crop is done and if it's decent I'll start experimenting with organics and things like super-cropping.2-Scoops wrote: ↑Tue Mar 28, 2023 12:40 pmLike supercropping it will come back like an S bend, very much easier to do in bloom and less snappable (great word lol) than vegging plants, just make sure you dont catch stem with your nails when your crushing it with finger n thumb. Well that's if ya do it

Re: Sy Goes Coco Loco with Orinoco, Zkitzos, Triangles & Unicorns
Hello, Happy Friday, weekly update time! Day 33 in flower. EC 1.7, pH 6.2 with PK boost at half strength, nothing fancy! Lights were cranked up to 75% but Unicorn Pop Drops leaves started burning again, so I think I'll try alternating between 50% and 75% throughout the day
I was expecting a bit more stack on UPD but bloom time stated on packet is 7-10 weeks so maybe there's time. Zkitzo is stacking quite nicely and has a few manky fan leaves but the buds close to the light seem to be lapping it up. The Ice Cream Cake is very small but very healthy looking and Orinoco is also in perfect health, not a single bit of leaf fade or anything and it's now almost as tall as UPD, so leads me to conclude that some cultivars/phenotypes just hate LEDs being too close or too bright but some cope fine. Maybe that's an oversimplification but can't think what else it could be. VPD is pretty dialed now since I got the fan controller, all plants transpire nicely, always praying. It isn't a big problem but would be nice if it didn't happen. Dimming/raising the light, or training the plants seems to be the fix, just a bit of trial and error to find out the needs of each new plant.
The bud porn is all Zkitzo as the others look less developed.

It looks like I'll be getting lots of popcorn. Disappointing but not the end of the world. Zkitzo looks like it might yield OK and it smells delicious. The others don't have much going on in terms of looks or aroma. This is end of week six, potentially another 3-4 left.

Re: Sy Goes Coco Loco with Orinoco, Zkitzos, Triangles & Unicorns
Hey y'all, thanks for the kind comments. I'm a bit late with my updates, mid-way through week 8 and these started being flushed at end of week 7. Basically fed up with how shit my grows have been looking recently so I'm losing the will to do regular updates. Not exactly sure what's gone wrong this time but theories include:
1. Light too intense, although Orinoco has not shown any signs of LED burn whatsoever and yields are still very poor, whereas my noob mate with no experience who I'm helping has the exact same plant from clone and that is stacking properly, whereas I always got popcorn buds using the same GHO soil and light that I sold him. The only change is I told him to avoid using the self-watering feature but top water only, which probably helped a bit.
2. EC too high, they do look a bit overfed and dark green.
3. I am cursed.
4. My place is cursed.
5. I have a poltergeist.
6. I'm a moron.

My Zkitzo

My Ice Cream Cake

My mate's grow at week 6 end with my old kit:

My mate's Orinoco, more stacked than I ever had it.

My mate's Blue Kush Berry

My mate's rainbow Candy

I've been back over your diary and the only thing I can even suggest as a possible reason for your issues is maybe over watering and I know what your going to say and I agree it s impossible to over water in coco but the only time I had a similar thing was in a Wilma feeding multiple times a day they were in 6 ltr fabric pots so a similar size to yours. The plant's were under led too and at the time I blamed the led for the small buds. Like I say that's all I can suggest, hope they bulk up mate and your list above has made me laugh

Thanks mate, tbh I was thinking the same, forgot to mention that in my dumb list, glad it amused you :D. It definitely is possible to over water in coco, but the theory I heard was that once the root system is well established you can treat it almost like NFT, not quite constant like that but with multiple daily feeds. I'll try cutting back on the feeds like you suggest, maybe there's not enough oxygen in the root zone. I'm still a noob with this fertigation method.Wrh wrote: ↑Thu Apr 20, 2023 6:42 amI've been back over your diary and the only thing I can even suggest as a possible reason for your issues is maybe over watering and I know what your going to say and I agree it s impossible to over water in coco but the only time I had a similar thing was in a Wilma feeding multiple times a day they were in 6 ltr fabric pots so a similar size to yours. Just a bit baffled by the soil grow doing much better at my mate's, he's not doing anything special, relying on me 100% for guidance. I don't think it's environmental either, my VPD is dialed, his isn't. Again, maybe due to lack of oxygen in the root zone due to me using the bottom feeding tanks.

Re: Sy Goes Coco Loco with Orinoco, Zkitzos, Triangles & Unicorns
All chopped and almost dried following a two week flush, so this completes the diary. Yields were poor again, probably due to over-watering (thanks @Wrh for the observation) and overfeeding. I'll be more careful next time.
Zkitzo is a lovely strain, nice Zkittlez terpenes and a very pleasant, well balanced effect for day or night but the buds are a bit airy and light. Potential keeper just for the effects.
Unicorn Pop Drops is also very nice, kind of a hashy/incense/rose flavour, dense buds and a heavy eyelid, couchlock, stare at the wall kind of stone, but doesn't send me to sleep.
Ice Cream Cake is good too but friends have grown it better than me - mine has a taint in the flavour like it hasn't been flushed or had too much nitrogen. Normally it's a very tasty strain and that flavour does come through but it could be better. This one still isn't dry and there wasn't much at all.
Orinoco looks the best and it's an improvement over the last run but it's not the pheno I've been chasing - lacks flavour and power.
