Day 29:
Some more LST training.
Ph in tank is stable at 5.5 after the other day I accidentally lowered it too much. Much more stable that NFT that I was getting. I don't have any circulation pumps or air stones in the res either. NFT I had a circulator and heater - maybe that could have been a factor - back then I had too many factors so as a beginner it was a stupid headache I didn't need. Over the years I've learnt to start simple.
Noticed a couple of my small leaves had bits in them. I've removed them. I've got a flyer catcher, but as I write this I've noticed it's hanging in the tent, so if it's a bug that can't fly then it's useless - anyone have any tips of anything I can leave in the tent/near pots to repel bugs and crap?
Adjusted the hysteris on the heater - was set at 1.0c, changed to 2.0c so the heater will turn on if temps reach 20c, heat up to 22c and then turn off.
I may have to go away for a week - thankfully I have the autopot this time if it starts kicking in.
The tank seems to be at the same level since the day I installed it, as the ph is still 5.5 in the tank, and 6.2 at the pots, meaning it hasn't drank the first fill up since I turned it all on. Maybe the roots haven't been fully established yet, but they aint DEAD yet? Must be okay, as it has been almost a week since I turned the pots on!
