TT bake's Wedding Cakes

Post by Treetrunk »

Got a Wedding Cake seed from the store and popped it in February.
Took some clones and left em on a very low heat for a couple of months now.

I think this could be the mother. :idn:
Anyway we've had a bit of brutal training and it's going to be flipping tomorrow :barmy: ImageImage
Setup is 80cm tent,80 litre plaster mixing tub,50cm planters, Charles Austin air pump and IS320 light.
The light draws 380w on full. Set to 250w at the moment.
Nutrients have been Canna for veg and Mill's for flower.

Day 4 from flip. Put it in overdrive
Turned the light up to 280w and set at 10 inch above the canopy.Image
Started adding flowering nutrients to the tank at top-ups and running at 900ppm and 6ph.
Happy with it so far. ImageImageImage
Just waiting for some stretch now

The cakes have got very bushy. Had to have a bit of a trim.
Tank change to full flower Mill's nutrients at 900ppm and 6ph.
Light is drawing 290w.
These are now a week from flipping. Give it a couple of weeks and then strip it back. :barmy:

Cakes are 2 weeks from flip.
Really leafy and loads of sucker branches. I've removed a few leaves but they keep coming back for more.
Give it a couple of days and it's butchering time.
Humidity is a real bitch at the moment. Hoping it gets better after the trim.

Wow I can't wait to see the result :) I see you use hydroponics, is it ebb and flow?

Thanks for looking in @Rorschach
It's just a basic bubbler system. Roots grow into the nutrient with a few air stones added.

Cheap to setup and cheaper on nutrients as there recirculated.

Looking nice again @Treetrunk whats your water temps been like in this heat? Do you even check them? Any issues? How come your using the canna for veg instead of the mills mate? And last but not least are you using the whole mills range or just base and pk?

Hi @Nom
The water temperature has been up to 24c. I have a thermometer in the tank.
I think the pebbles act as a buffer.
Sometimes I sink a few icepacks in the tank and that gets it down to 19c.
I've never noticed any problems with roots or plants even when it's warm.
With the Canna it's just some spare I'm using up.
For the flowering I'll be using Mills base,PK and C4.
The main thing is regularly change nutes in flower. The tank only holds 45 litres so gets a bit of hammer.
Early veg change every two weeks and flowering change every week.
