I’m not using the root riot cubes now I ordered the coco pellets the other day guys thanks. How long can I keep the cuttings in a jar of water I’ve only changed the water once since I took them.Momma bear wrote:I have done the zip lock way in jiffy pellets it works good

Re: Gonna try cloning
If ya change water once a day and just dip bottom inch or so of the cutting into that, theirs no need for cubes or pellets it will grow roots itself in the water in around 7 to 10 days, i used a small brown bottle last time i did it and stuck that on windowsill in Summer sun. Dont use freezing cold water from tap but more tepid water works best.Groot wrote: ↑Fri Apr 15, 2022 10:54 amFinchmad_79 wrote:The cubes you used look to be on the dry side.

But in answer to your question you can keep it till it yellows up and dies or roots through, you may find it struggle to root in same water uit needs changing more or less daily to get roots.

Re: Gonna try cloning
Evening folks I’ve got my jiffy pellets, ziplock bags and cuttings but can’t find the clonex so I’ll go without it this time and I’ve soaked the jiffy pellets in 2ml per litre of root juice for a couple of hours then I cut them at Ann angle and popped them into misted ziplock bag and into corner of my tent.
Wee question folks should I put them in tent or in the heated propagtor on the window sill can control the heat abit better in there.thanks again folks for all your help

Re: Gonna try cloning
I’ll give this one last try then I’m off to buy seeds lol.
The last 2 died quite quick in the zip bags so I just sorta gave up then I trimmed the plants for the last time and ended up with loads of cutting so I put 5 into a couple of root riot cubes and the rest into coco pellets this was 4 days ago and they’re still going well.
The only thing that I’ve changed is I’m spraying the leafs twice a day. Thinking these might just make it this time I’ll update in a couple of days hopefully with roots lol.
Can’t be this hard!

Re: Gonna try cloning
hi groot i used to have trouble with cloning esp in mud, useless it was. now i have a simple slow but foolproof method and more clones root than i can use!i got an old plastic bucket and a microwave plate cover its opaque plastic and has perfect vent holes in an cost me a pound in poundland and fits top of bucket lovely, then a six inch pot of just moist not wet coco and i put 5-8 cuts in same pot and in the bucket in my tiny veg cab the bucket protects them from the fan and has stable climate and they root in 7-10 days, make sure medium is not overly wet and dont be shy about choosing the best stems for clones from the mum, they grow back as long as you have a few leaves left, coco is best ever medium for rooting, good luck
