Easiest way I’ve tried with the best succes rate is to soak for 24 hours, after that you should have a root, then into kitchen paper for a day or two, any that haven’t rooted after the first day in kitchen towel I put back into soak and keep checking till I get a root, best way to transfer from the water is with a teaspoon, you can hook them out real easy without causing any damage then just drop it into whatever media.
Another good way I like is using rock wool or root riot cubes with a wick that hangs into a reservoir, the wick will draw up just enough to keep the cube damp.
Basically just use a root riot tray and fit it to the lid of a box, add a wick that hangs into the bottom and runs up the side of the cube, I used to use old socks for wicks they work a treat. I call it the germination station 100% success rate with that, haven’t bought a root riot tray for a while though so not made a new one otherwise I’d be using that every time.
ok I’m gonna pop them in some water this time and try your way
now this min I’m going do them

I think I’ve tried all ways lol give me a flower seed bingo , give me a weed one pfft nothingsybarite wrote:I usually put my seeds straight into jiffy plugs after the plugs have been hydrated in filtered water, then some of the water squeezed out, then seal in a tupperware box to keep moist, then in the airing cupboard for warmth. I personally think there are too many things that can go wrong with paper tissue method, the only real benefit as far as I'm aware is that you can see the seed pop, but I don't like handling them when they are that delicate.Mrs Beefheart wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 1:50 pmI gotta be honest I get big trouble popping seeds lol but growers choice came through for me without a hitchhappy growing

Yeah I used to do the same with root riot cubes till I moved to coco, now I don’t tend to bother with the cubes.sybarite wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 11:42 pmI usually put my seeds straight into jiffy plugs after the plugs have been hydrated in filtered water, then some of the water squeezed out, then seal in a tupperware box to keep moist, then in the airing cupboard for warmth. Yeah could say that, it’s really pure with an ec of 0 and it’s been remineralised, it’s our drinking water. the plants love it too.
Easiest way I’ve tried yet, I used to do the whole thing with sandpaper in a match box and shake it to rough up the seeds then soak in water but just soaking them for 24 hrs has made that step redundant, any that don’t germ after a day in paper get re soaked again, 100% success rate doing this.Mrs Beefheart wrote: ↑Fri Apr 29, 2022 12:10 pmIt’s always my prob , I blame the seedsVador wrote:Oh really, why is that then?Mrs Beefheart wrote: ↑Thu Apr 28, 2022 1:50 pm
