carrying on with the Canna nutrients, using 2L measurements and then adding an extra 500ml to lower the EC

Plant is doing well ( I think)

I have FIMmed once and topped twice

It's not very tall and the fan leaves were getting bushy, so I tried some LST with wiring, which was ok but there were some huge (independent) fan leaves hoarding the light.

Therefore I bit the bullet and tried defoliation ...eek - took off those large independents and other large fan leaves that already had new growth at the joint (as they will take over once they get direct light)

Also purchased a net, which I'm using to set the height I want the heads to grow before switching to flowering.

I'm about 34 days since seeding, so another 11 days of veg (I think)

pre defoliaton

set the net lower to get some more spread

probably want the plant head height to be about here

Today was the final defoliation before sending to flowering on Saturday.

I realised I hadn't added any silicon to the nutrients yet, so did that today - 0.4ml of liquid in 2L of water (pre-dilution to achieve EC)

I broke a node whilst moving this for the net :( tried to attach it, but gave up :(

I have no idea how to tell how the plant will flower, how can you tell??

here are the latest pictures.

a solid week of work!

defoliating went well and had no negative effect
SCROG net seems to be working
managed to get light to lower leaves and now things look a lot more uniform and consistent
using a 100% of canna coco guide, plus Silcon (0.4mg) and Calmag (1mg) in mix, 2L of mix, plus an extra litre or so, to lower EC below 1400- Feeding every 2 or 3 days depending on substrate - 20 % run off
have added a small fan for the floor, as I'm trying to get the humidity below 60%, may have to get dehumidifier to flowering

The plan is to switch to 12/12 tomorrow evening (lights on overnight to combat the cold overnight temps)

HI to anyone reading.

It's been 12 days since I switched to flowering, things have gone smoothly - though still trying to lower humidity in my small tent

plant has stretched slightly and bushed out(again), so i've done bit's of defoliation to keep it under control

Watering pattern back to 3-3.5l every 3 days - Nutes are close to 90% of Canna guide, with every 3rd feed including CalMag and Silicon

this will be a 10 week flower for the Hulkberry, so i''m adjusting the recommendations from Canna as needed.

Small tent it causing issues with the monkey fan as it's best position keeps knocking the lights - I keep trying different things, but the constant movement could be positive?

I think it's going well and can see over a dozen sites with what I think is first signs of flowering - you can see in the pics

Love the Idea with the old fan cover. I have just taken 2 off my small ones so may make use of those.

Plant's looking good too :oik!:

2 weeks into flowering, watering every 3 days, plant is taking 4L (with 10-15% runoff). will keep an eye on it to see if I need to water more regularly, but I think it looks good

following up on watering - checked after 2 days and the top layer was very dry, not much moisture at 1inch and lots of weight loss overall.

Therefore watered after 2 days, used a 3.5L mix, topped up to around 4.25 to reduce EC, poured it all in, resulting in around 20-25% run off

Also decided I had to defoliate, as it was far too bushy and lower leaves were not going to get light or produce anything - scary stuff for the first time in flowering.

defoliating plus dehumidifier has taken the humidity down to 50%, not sure what I can to get it lower.

here are this morning's pics
