First Grow - Marshydro TS600 kit and Hulkberry Haze seed
hey all,
I'm going to try to keep a diary of my first grow - fingers crossed I can keep it up
Story so far
I'm growing in Coco (Atami), Perlite (Plagron), Worm Hummus (vermicompost) - roughly 60/30/10 - will see how it goes
I''m also using the Canna Nutrient range - which are meant to be very good
Additionally, I've read that mychrozae (sp) is useful, so I have some BAC Funky Funghi, which is added to the top few cm's. similar story with Silicon- will add some during the grow.
I also have some Aptus calmag boost, but will use that sparingly as the Cana Coco A B nutrient already contains some.
I'm growing in a small 60cmx60cm tent so not much space.
Germinating
36hrs in distilled water followed by 36hrs of the paper towel method at 25-27C
resulted in this
Seeding
planted the baby in a 500ml pot, with the medium pre-soaked.
almost a few disasters during this! dropped the seed 5 times due to terrible tweezers, and then was worried I buried the seed too deep but decided not to overcompensate and dropped a pinch of the medium on top and gave it a touch of water.
Lights were set to 18/6 as per Canna instructions, and about 24 inches above the plant.
I continued using distilled water at this stage
after 8 hours I remembered a video that showed placing a plastic zip bag over the pot to help humidity, so gave that a go
I was worried that the tent was too hot at 27% and for some reason, the gauge was showing 99% humidity, but there was no moisture dripping from the tent. I've opened the passive vents at the bottom slightly to help - currently at 25.9C / 71%.
I gave the plan a small spray roughly every 8 hours
after 24 hours of distilled water, I decided to start with the canna grow guide, at this stage I had issues with EC, and had to use twice the amount of water to lower it to an acceptable level! some more learnings needed here. Again I only sprayed the top every 8 hours
after 40 hours (which was 2hrs ago) the seed has burst through the top and I can see 2 little green bits ( will add pic later)
I have not switched on the extractor yet, was worried I had it in the wrong way, but I hadn't. Not sure when the right time is, so help please?
I have a monkey fan and 4L humidifier setup and ready to go as needed.
that's all there is for now.

60 hrs since seeding

still worried about lights off temp, so i have been adjusted my timing to ensure the 18/6 split covers the dark hours
still using nutrient via spray bottle - 4 times a day, amounts based on the dryness of coco mix medium.
think I've got the PH stuff sorted, but need to read more on EC/PPM - some strange results or interpretation from me

Re: First Grow - Marshydro TS600 kit and Hulkberry Haze seed
got some yellow tips overnight :(
thanks to advice and comments from members i will be trying a few things differently to prevent it getting worse
1) revert to EC and PH adjusted tap water for a few days, instead of distilled with nutrients
2) stop spray watering as droplets on the leaves will burn under the lights

Don't worry about 18/6 for a couple of weeks or more.
Keep your light on 24hrs.
Don't put it too close yet.
Temps between 24/28and humidity between 60/70% if you can.
The plant looks fine.

Re: First Grow - Marshydro TS600 kit and Hulkberry Haze seed
hi all, update time!
had a disaster at the start of the week, by making a complete mess of watering and nutrients.
I had started with spraying only, but I made the mistake of spraying with nutrients and then adding too much in relation to the water needed
I used 1.9ml a & B per litre - way too much in the first week.
It caused yellowing of tips and white bits

thanks to the advice on the forums, I flushed the plant with 0.3ml A &B and 0,3ml root boost per litre and flushed completely
this helped end the burn! phew

after the flush I didn't water for 48 hrs, this time with 0.7ml A & B and 0.5ml Root boost per L
over the last few days 2 more fan leaves have grown and the colour looks good

I am bit concerned that the difference in this small pot size and my final pot size is a big step, and wondered if I should switch to a 2.5L pot for a few weeks?
I know I should wait for more leaves and more roots to pop out, but please advice away. here is a pic of the base of the pot, a few roots sticking out already.

not sure if this is adequate growth for 7 days in Coco?
that's all for now, thanks
