Yep, as soon as I saw them I cancelled my order and got of my arse and fitted the chiller. I am so lazy sometimes mate, just look for excuses not to do shit. To be honest I did order large jiffy bags to put them in - wasn't gonna drop them directly in the water. Gonna keep the jiffy bags on order as these might prove useful for curing rather than using jars which seem to be expensive. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 7:28 amDid you read some of the comments about those packs?
Here are some of them...
So much happier now the chiller is looking like it is working great.

You could get a 1.5 litre pop bottle, fill it with water (about 80%) and freeze it. Then, when needed drop it into the rez.Minty wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 7:31 amYep, as soon as I saw them I cancelled my order and got of my arse and fitted the chiller. Great Move getting the Chiller minty will help no end in long hot spells as the summer go's on. The plants look heat and light stressed. I would keep the light dimmed low for now and get some beneficial's for the help in fighting root rot something like Hydroguard . Some additives do stain roots so check to see if browning is normal when using certain products otherwise you might end up chasing your tail when really nothing is wrong. The plants will soon tell you if problems occur if they look happy your good.

Feck me, should have thought about that before looking on Amazon. The Aspie Toker wrote: ↑Sun May 31, 2020 7:33 amYou could get a 1.5 litre pop bottle, fill it with water (about 80%) and freeze it. Then, when needed drop it into the rez.
I do have a water chiller mate. They just didn't deliver the pipes (13mm) and accessories with it (should be here Monday), but once motivated I managed to ghetto it with some old larger pipes (19mm) which should actually work better as technically the chiller I got is 150 litres and my water capacity is about 40 litres so with larger pipes the chillers doesn't need to run that often.
Like I said before, I am just really lazy/distracted sometimes and if it wasn't for Marcus the plants would still be in the airing cupboard

I really appreciate you following my grow and all the likes you have been giving me mate.
I got PayPal if you wanna donate ;o)
But seriously, they do look so stressed and I am hoping the water temp control will now help.
In terms of the lights they are the maximum distance away but not really dim-able because I ordered the wrong driver. I got a MeanWell HLG-480H-C2100A when I should have ordered the HLG-480H-C2100B. I did actually get the driver for free and KUDOS to Mouser Electronics customer support for that. Might have to get the one I originally wanted and keep this as a backup driver I guess.
Gonna see what happens now the water temps are under control as I suspect this will make a difference to the overall resilience of the plants but..
I am using HydroGuard in my schedule:-
Not sure if that is enough or not and to be honest I know the temps are really high >32 so kinda surprised they are not a lot worse.

The roots are looking much better now that the chiller is in action so I suspect it was the beginning of root rot rather than nutrient colour and thanks to the Hydro Guard they seem to doing alright now:-

Day 33 update
EasyBud (on the right) is still looking like shit but the Royal Dwarf (on the left) is looking OK. I swear I must have mixed them up in the past because the EasyBud looks like the Sativa while the Royal Dwarf looks like an Indica to me...

Re: Minty Grow Diary - GR420 LED Grow Off
I swapped them around so that the EasyBud is now on the left below the camera where I can see it better and also to half the 'potential variables' by 50%, if the plant that was doing OK starts struggling in the new location I have more information. So the Royal Dwarf is now on the right and I can get a better side on shot of that one also:-
Still not sure what is going on with the EasyBud but it does look a little pale to me especially compared to the other one.
Apart from the heat crisis I have, the humidity is not great and just wondered if anyone has any ideas on increasing the humidity? I have been using some sponges which do work a little but thinking as I have the insulated 'pool type' lining on the floor I may just Flood the growing space with an inch of water or something??
Any help would be appreciated. The night time stats are not that bad:-

But I think a higher humidity would help with the extremely high temperatures during the day? But again

As a side question if the E.C. is still high should I still replace the water and refill? Does the E.C. go down as a plant eats the nutrients? This side is new to me so any advice appreciated. They are currently sitting in the same water I originally put them in on the 28th May:-

Re: Minty Grow Diary - GR420 LED Grow Off
Day 35 Update.
They are still pretty much looking the same with the EasyBud looking heat stressed and the Royal Dwarf looking fine (maybe that one is the Sativa after all and is just able to handle the heat better?). Should hopefully have that sorted soon as I received an update that the air conditioners are now shipping which is cool.
As I was recently lucky enough to win a new tent thanks to the awesomeness of this place - I plan on incorporating a veg room / mother tent into the overall solution and plan on using the air conditioner to hopefully control both tents.
My current air intake / extract setup is basically as follows:-
Location of roof tiles for fresh air intake and stale air plus heat extraction:-

Current air flow setup using the 6" Hyper Stealth extract and a single 4" dual speed intake:-

My planned changes are to incorporate another very basic 4" fan that I already have wired up as a shower fan into the air loop to incorporate the additional tent with both fresh air intake and hot stale air extract while not affecting the existing tent setup. The Air conditioner will basically fit into the loop and cool the incoming air so that I don't have to worry about effecting the existing carbon filter or adding any additional carbon filtering as it will only be cooling intake air.
The final setup will basically consist of something like this:-

This should allow me to control the air conditioner as a backup boost fan to both tents (on demand if needed or just while it is active to boost the flow of cold air quickly) to both tents during the couple of months that it will be needed. When the air conditioner is not needed the 3 fans should work well to ventilate both tents. The 6" extract should be better utilised by pulling from the two tents which will be feed by 4" fans which will both be controlled by the HydroBox so the Veg tent one probably won't need to be on that often. I also don't suspect the Veg tent will require a Carbon filter as I vent out the roof but it will need an additional Phresh intake filter to protect the new tent from bugs as much as possible.
I think that should work out quite well but the only way to really know is to get it done.
Roll on the slow boat from China with my new portable air conditioner unit.
I did also check the roots and it looks like they are starting to recover so hopefully just another set back for them and they move on. Sorry phone was upside down ;o)
Easy Bud Roots:-

Royal Dwarf Roots:-

Lessons already learnt for next time for sure.
