i just noticed your comment about the leaf margins as well

i have heard and read a couple places that blue and red lights do tent to struggle to transport everything to the leaf tips. in canna youll sometimes see white tips from it. im not 100% sure this would be true for your food crop but its been mentioned for the light type :D

Interesting you mention this physiologic problem due to the light type. I have learned from my time in indoor lettuce farming that poor air flow and too high humidity can actually prevent the plant from breathing "hard" enough to draw the water to the very edge of the leaf.

I think it probably is more to do with our RH and lack of air flow issue

Yeah i think its inherent with some LED types as they dont produce the IR that warms the leaf surface like HID, a space generally needs a warmer ambient

I dont hate meters. I just think that sometimes its cheaper to work out whats going on in another way

a meter gives you an instant answer mate and there can be nothing wrong with that

U r right, it is most often cheaper to just learn what ur doin wrong rather than buying a mchine that gives u a number that u still have to get educated enough to interpret

Outdoor leafy greens finally showing new growth



I intercropped beet seeds within the greens so as I harvest for salad, the beets will fill in their place



And my spring barley cover crop is establishing nicely

Also I like bugs but I really dont like these damn beetle larvae
