Dutch Passion Lemon Zkittles & Barneys Farm Blue Gelato 41

Hey again Guys and Gurls,

Happy international womens day! What better day than to liberate some feminized seeds from their cold jail (bottom of my fridge) and germinate them.

This time I'm going for the Lemon Zkittles and Blue Gelato 41. Both have similar flowering times and heights etc. I didn't want to do another multistrain grow but Dutch Passion sells packs of three and the head shop I visit don't split the packs anymore so I thought I'd split the room in half and do a couple of the seeds I won in the GR420 competition! So thank you for running these comps guys, you've done me a solid.

Seeds will be germinated using a petri dish, some cotton wool, some RO water with a small amount of URB and seaweed extract. I've poped them in the airing cupboard so fingers crossed I don't fuck them up.

I've got rockwool to transplant them into this time as I'm still deciding on what media to use. I may go my usual coco/bat mix route, I also have a 4 pot wilma to use and I have access to a Nutriculture Amazon system? Shall I go hydroponics or keep it old school?

They'll be started under my usual 125w CFL and transfered under my new Lumatek 300w Atis LED for the rest of their life.

I havent voted either.... if noise and temps arnt an issue, Id go aeroponics. I personally went coco as its noisy and I would be needing a piss all night long with ours being in the bedroom.

Hey Nanook, I'm not too bothered about noise as it's all in my office and I like the sound of running water. Let's see what people want to see. If no one votes I'll pull a choice out of a hat.

Hey all,

The seeds have germinated and one is out of the rockwool. The other three have a little stage fright :) I've decided to go aeroponics with this one so I've just grabbed the system and paid for the nutrients. I've also bought a booster pump for my RO machine as I think I'm going to struggle without one.

So here's the lineup.

Ferro Osmosis grow & bloom base nutrients

Ferro Bio Crop
Ferro Bio Roots
Ferro Enzyme Plus
Growth Tech Silicon
Growth Tech Liquid Oxygen (maybe?)

A question to anybody with experience with these aeroponics systems. Would you swap out the sprayers for something else? The system comes with 360 spinning heads but I don't like the idea of roots being close to moving parts. My thoughts are it wouldn't take much to stop them spinning. I'm thinking of swapping them out for the X-Stream propagator spray heads. Those ones don't need to move so would be more reliable I would of thought? What do you guys think?

At the aeroponic indoor farm I used to work at we used spray heads similar to the x-stream sprayer.

The other upside to the x stream sprayers is there arent any moving parts to clog up ir break

Thanks for the feedback Mafoo.Martain that's my thoughts too. I just worry those spinning sprayers stop working and kill the plants. I've bought replacements so I think I'll swap em out for the x-steam style ones.

Ya know I dont really think u can gl wrong with the x streams... they r very popular and... CHEAP when u never have to replace them. Just dont eff up and break them when cleaning and changing gear lol. Learn from our mistakes.

Pro tip. Make sure they are all sealed well and you have no holes without a spray tip. High water jets wreak havoc on plants.........

Pretty gutted but I may have to postpone this diary until further notice. I'm unable to get nutrients due to the lockdown and I don't have enough to see me through 3 months.

I'll be back once things become normal. Probably same setup but different strains as Lemon Zkittles has been discontinued.
