Thinking of getting a new X-Box - but which one?

Post by The Aspie Toker »

I already have an X-Box360 (a black one as black x-boxes matter) and would love to play Red Dead Redemption 2, but that doesn't run on the 360.

I'd like to upgrade my X-Box but there seems to be quite a few on the market. I'll want one that comes with a disk drive. I don't do Netflix, and I don't have anything BlueRay.

The TV is HD ready, but not 4K.

What do you think is the best one to get? Money is an object, so I can't afford a top-end type.

Thank you.

The original xbox one would be fine for what you describe. I'd check amazon uk for a certified refurbished unit for more savings, but I'd also suggest you wait since the next generation is coming out November 10th. I'd expect they'll be even cheaper after that. I have the original xbox one and it suits my needs just fine.

The new ones (Xbox Series X & S) are coming soon. Just seen the spec difference and although you don't need the new one I am sure prices will drop shortly if you can hang on for a bit (launch date is November 10th - but prices should start falling before that).

Thank you for the replies, guys.
I'd prefer and X-box 1, but you can no longer get them new. I could get a second hand one, but you never know how it's been treated or how long it will last.

The Xbox 1S seems affordable, but I would want the disk version and not the download only version, otherwise I wouldn't be able to play any of the games I have already.
@Hmr81 I wouldn't mind a PS. I had the first one that came out, but I no longer have any of the games, whereas with the XBox, I have shitloads of them.

@The Aspie Toker i never knew they stopped selling them! Cheeky

But I did some searching for you
https://www.microsoft.com/en-gb/p/xbox- ... 2g2zfh0dnx
You can get one from Microsoft themself still don't know what price you're looking at though ✌🏽
Thank you. I have seen some X-Box 1 S on Argos, but they seem to be all-digital, which I don't want. Those too were £249 - which is affordable, even if not right away.

I'm not really into playing "online only games" which some games seem to be. (one had a 3 game pack included, but the game I liked the look of was online only...grrr)
