Small tent electric panel heater

Post by Hmr81 »

Ordered the 500w electric panel heater from grow well. Came next day even though I didn't ask for next day delivery so that was a bonus to start with.

It's listed at 70 quid on the site but if you have a Google you can get a discount code and drop it to about sixty quid delivered.

It's extremely thin and you can see it's mostly see through apart from the metal heating elements in the plastic. Really nice fit for a small tent. Ours is 75*75*160 bud box pro. It only weighs a few grams really so it's easy to hang using soft bendy wire .

It comes with an EU plug and with a UK adapter but it was shit and wasn't a secure connection so I used a travel plug to convert it. Really should have a better converter in the pack tbh, that was the only down side .

Heats up really quickly, under ten seconds. Connected to my inkbird temp controller it brings the tent up from an ambient 14c to the set temp of 24 in under two minutes. I was impressed how quickly it heated the whole tent.

Big bonus is zero noise compared to the fan heater we have been using.

Draws near the 500w when it kicks in and then quickly drops to 240-300 watts as it maintains temps.

Overall I'm very happy with the upgrade, how long it lasts will be the deciding factor. It's got to beat 4 years and still be working as my fan heater has been in use that long and still works.

Very interested to see the longevity of something like this. The safety aspect has me interested more than anything.

Me too, I'm very interested to see if its going to last, it's up against the good old reliable fan heater so let's see if it can handle a grow or ten.

Yes i like idea behind this. So you can set it with your inkbird which clicks it of when said temp has been reached or does it have a built temp thermometer as well ? Keep us informed how you get along in this thread @Hmr81 I`ll be following on interested to see how you get along with it. Let us know if it can take odd splash of wet here and their every now n then if it happens. I`m a bit of a splasher at times lol.

Will do @2-Scoops , I've got it wired into the inkbird so it just flicks on and off on that. There's no built in temp settings it's either on or off. Says it can be used under plant pots and is ip67 rated so a splash shouldn't be an issue ...in theory lol

Is there anyway @Hmr81 you can track how much it costs to heat your tent over a week and let us know, I'm thinking I'd like to put one in my cubby where my tents are or something
