VPN and Routers
Hi all,
I recommend using a DD-WRT/OpenWRT or Tomato based router and a VPN service like Cyberghost.
This way anything in the house connected to it is secured, seems to work with netflix etc as well.
DONT skimp on a router if you use streaming services.... they need a decent CPU to handle streams!
BG :)

Re: VPN and Routers
My dd-wrt router is plugged into eth1 on the ee router to INTERNET ( fiber/cable router ) on the dd-wrt.
You still need the modem part unless your using cable ( BT fiber needs a modem as its not real fiber as such )

Re: VPN and Routers
We use BT lines, sky said they had fiver, we were with virgin before, I noticed the engineer fitting our modem to the phone box so asked about the fiberoptics, apparently they run to the green boxes....I do miss my virgin speeds.Black Grouse wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 7:24 pmMy dd-wrt router is plugged into eth1 on the ee router to INTERNET ( fiber/cable router ) on the dd-wrt.

Re: VPN and Routers
SO theirs no DNS leaks or anything with these DD-WRT/OpenWRT routers ? Ive been looking at some on E-Bay that are already set up, basically you just plug in isp router and away you go according to the sales pitch, they`re around £50 but i`m unsure about this tech stuff. Are they simple enough to set up if i just bought a DD-WRT/OpenWRT router to add Cyberghost to it ? I`m getting Virgin fitted soon as well will these work on Virgin mate ? I run Tor over Cyberghost which is on lappy only but i really need to get all of household done once Virgin has connected me up at end of December, which is why i`m looking cheers. :)Nanook of the north wrote: ↑Mon Aug 20, 2018 4:01 pmHi all,
