Re: VPN and Routers
You can specify dns on it mate, just 8.8.8.8 etc.
Be wary of a cheap router, they lack the processing power for streaming videos etc. I am also having issues with mine dropping the VPN without telling me atm so im back to just cyberghost on windows for now.... really need to look at it tbh, probably just an auto reconnect flag Ive missed somewhere.

Re: VPN and Routers
Well my Cyberghost subscription runs out pretty soon Nanook so i`ve recently been playing about with setting the basic open VPN up using free servers from many lists you can find on net, but i`ve just not installed any of server info onto Open Vpn yet, but yes i`m now thinking buy one of these routers and just add my own OVPN, don't get me wrong im a bit weary of dodgy servers but after chatting with someone in know it seem plausible. #
That said just looking at these plug and play OVPN routers on E-Bay seems much more the easy option and i like easy. What do you reckon to this lot https://www.ebay.co.uk/sch/i.html?_from ... 33f9f8d8d8 i suppose i`m looking for one at least £50+ for a decent connection speed and such likes. The Linsksys maybe ?

Re: VPN and Routers
Honestly I'm not sure Jimmi, I use one of these.
https://www.vpnrouters.com/d-link-dir89 ... outer.html
That site has some good info on them as well :) - I previously had a netgear 6000 iirc, it was a 1ghz cpu ( overclocked ) but struggled with power on streams.

Re: VPN and Routers
2.4 is slow, but works longer distance than 5.... im not really tech savvy but pick up bits and bobs. I tend to go for wireless AC and the fastest number I can find tbh haha

Re: VPN and Routers
Morning All
I know this topic is a bit dated, but I'd like to add my 2p worth.
Mullvad VPN support wireguard which is faster than your traditional OpenVPN services. Theres no commitment, you pay €5 per month and they don't need any personal info from you. An account number is generated and you basically top that up.
There are OpenWRT routers that support this out of the box. GL.INET have a few and they're quite good.
If anyone needs help or assistance, feel free to give me a shout.

Re: VPN and Routers
I've had a good offer for Norton Antivirus and VPN from them. Seems to work well, anyone got a feedback on that?

Re: VPN and Routers
We have Virgin for the speed as rhn a silly amount of devices. I use cybsrghost. Just ensure yku use the correct settings or you're just as open to virus and people tailing you.
Wireguard settings etc and I always keep changing the servers and connections to keep a fresh line. I.e. turn off and on again or use a different country etc....
