Welp I got that purslane FPJ drained and bottled. Since this batch was made with vigorously growing vegetative stage plants, I only applied it 1:1000 onto my carrots, beets, herbs, lilacs, and some other garden stuff still growing vegetatively. I did not put this onto any tomatoes, peppers, squash, or pollinator plants actively in flower.

And then I am trying to re-use the solids and an old kombucha mother to make some vinegar

The SCOBY hotel from years ago. No idea if they still good or not but 🤷🏻‍♂️

Into the jar it goes

I also recently learned about the medicinal potential of one of the worlds most hated weeds… creeping charlie.

So… my kid picked up some gunk from daycare and of course I got it and it turned into a wet congestive cough and sinus pressure. Usually I go straight to over the counter pills for this but am trying natural remedies more and more so gave the “ground ivy” overnight infusion a shot.

While the violet honey and creeping charlie infusions are helping I have a tendency to experience worse than average respiratory gunk so am looking for something stronger to help my cough be more effective.

Enter bloodroot, a native forest wildflower in my area, that has a long history of being used as an expectorant in native american ethnobotany.

Heres some info

I liked the bits about requesting permission from the plant’s guardian spirit before picking, being mindful of harvesting ethically and sustainably, and using a blender for fresh root tincture preparation.

Here goes my batch. I picked it from my father in laws land where it has a considerable patch. What I took was a drop in the bucket. I didnt have time to do the blending the day of so I came back to it, blended it with some extra that didnt fit in the pint jar, and topped it all off with everclear in a quart jar.

If my posts are getting annoying somebody chime in here please

I just think this shit has been calling me for so long and I am finally trying to pay it some respect and share the journey

Today I have been struggling a lot with upper neck and eye muscle pain so have been feeling quasi desperate for a natural answer. Weed helps a lot with deep muscle relaxation but I have been searching for something to pair with it to alleviate the even deeper tension.

Wild lettuce or prickly lettuce (Lactuca serriola)

Ok so strange phenomena with the wild lettuce overnight tea. Its SUPER bitter but once the bitterness fades its actually kind of a nice flavor if youre into really herbal green dirt type brews.

I drank this on an empty stomach while smoking a joint and coughing up gunk. Will not be doing this again. The bitterness mixed with the coughing was a recipe for diaster. Will need to sweeten this tea and take it with food instead of with a joint.

The bit that entered my body seems to be helping. So will try again later and report back. So far signs are promising.
