New Noob 4x4 Setup

Post by haggisgrower »

Hi guys, first id like to say thanks for letting me join the community. Already had some great advice from some peeps. :thanks:

So after weeks of research I just bust my bank and got an invisible sun ISH530-Type R.

I still need a 4x4 tent, filter, fans, soil, and nutes il be using sparingly.

Oh yeah and what seeds should I buy? Something forgiving with fast harvest and high yeild and advice on how to achieve that.

(thinking 3-4 femmed plants scrogged with 3 seedlings and 3 veg behind them to get a continuous harvest)

Been told this is the place to ask so looking forward to hearing your advice.

Cheers lads and laddettes :D

Oh yeah, budget is around 300-350 :Stoned:

Hi Haggis and welcome along to Growroom420,

Sounds like you’ve got a great plan to move forward here,

Have to agree somewhat with Marcus coco would be a great start to dialling in with the basics. Strain wise the worlds your oyster there’s thousands of strains to chose from. What’s your go to smoke atm ?? Indicas, sativas do you like the fruity strains or maybe something more piney ??

And any other info you may require or you can give us the quicker we can get you turning out some real nice plants

Welcome

Welcome to the nut house.

I disagree with the others. IMO I would go for a soil grow first. That way, there's no need for adjusting pH, no need for expensive pH pens and all the extra bits.

Once you have the basics done, then move onto coir or another medium.

Aye I think im going my first grow with Soil and basic organic nutes. Il go for coco when I feel like im ready.

next big decision is which 4x4 tent, filter, fans, soil to go for. Any suggestion with a 300£ budget?

Also this is probably a stupid question but how dangerous is it to order stuff to your address with credit card in UK?

Cheers

verve soil from b and q - get some flypaper tho.
viper filter - 6"
Fan - depends on location tbh for noise.
Tent - I am about to try a green-qube but your budget is quite low. I recommend a cheap black orchid tbh as they are cheap, but decent.
I order everything online via paypal tbh.
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

The black orchid looks good, will aim for that.

Its right next to my bedroom and neighbours kitchen so probably dont want a noisy fan?

Do I really need a powerful fan and filter growing with a powerful LED? I mean I shouldnt need it for cooling, I think I may actually have to put a heater in there over winter.

The main issue for me is to control the smell to a reasonable level.

Looks good: https://a1mhydro.co.uk/black-orchid-ten ... 20-120-200

They have fan/filter kits too but look kindof expensive and loud haha which one do you think would suit my needs?

That tent looks fine tbh. Re the fan I cant advise really as quiet ones tend to cost in my experience.

if you need the fan to be quiet, then grab a bigger size fan and a speed controller.

I've got a variac https://uk.rs-online.com/web/p/variacs/8902828/ in an old enclosure I wired up. Not cheap, but there's no buzzing from cheap electronic fan controllers.

I also have a Black Orchid tent... 1.2m x 1.2m. 80 quid jobbie. Does the job and has been going for a couple of years, but I wish I'd have just got a decent tent with a decent build quality to start with as I've been through a few of these cheaper tents in my time growing.

Iit's easy to get started by throwing a minimal budget at stuff... But you'll end up spending double replacing it in a couple of years time. Just buy decent and buy once is my suggestion.

You shouldn;t need a heater if it's in your house and you live in these days of central heating and stuff.

I'd say no security worries buying online. Probably more worries getting followed home from the hydro shop and done over.
A variac was the best thing I purchased for growing weed. Without one would have been impossible for me.
