Re: El Chapo in coco
Because you want the plant to use all stored nutrients :)

Re: El Chapo in coco
yep got that, so by setting the ph to 6.2 like i had it that would stop the plant from using the rest of the nutes up would it? or am I completely missing something lol

Re: El Chapo in coco
The reason for using plain water not phed is to take the nutrients out of the range of where the plant uptakes them. AS coco holds nutes and releases them when watered it is best to flush with plain water or the plant will continue feeding. It can take a while to flush the excess salts and nutes out of coco why a 10-14 days flush is always best. Unless you want to run 3 x the pot size of water through them, this normally clears up any excess.

Re: El Chapo in coco
cheers kbag, so it doesn't matter what the ph and ec are at all? like too high or low, as different parts of the country/world have different levels.
thanks

Re: El Chapo in coco
pH is usually slightly high from tap - 7 or so but it matters not as long as it's not 5.5-6.2 tbh. EC is just background wherever you are so won't be high enough to feed them properly - for example mines 0.5 and they still flush. They cannot take up nutrients even if they are there if the pH is off you see :)

Re: El Chapo in coco
Only dont PH during flush as you want the plants to use the nutrients stored in the leaves.
Heres a wee chart :)

Re: El Chapo in coco
DAY 67
Hi all, a little update to say the flush has started and put up a bit of porn for you.

shes on the 5th day of flush and the trichs are creaming up lovely, but still a fair few clear ones so think I'm on track for about a week later than it should be. hoping harvest will fall next weekend so I can keep an eye on the drying for a couple of days. (could do with that ecotechnics controller now)

flushing water has a PH of 7.1 and an EC of 0.1ms

thanks for looking
