I don't know about being a common thing for germination here. This was actually the first time I've purchased seeds from this seed bank (or anywhere for that matter) but it is how they suggest it is done.
I have since been told that seeds are being sold at a store that's about 10 miles from here MUCH less expensive than ordering them from California. Next time I get over that way I'll take a look at what they have.

What a difference 10 days makes!
These older 2 are at about 5 weeks, the next 2 are about a week behind and the other 3 are about a week behind them.
So far, except for the early germination issues, so good.

Just went up to water and feed
"The babies" and the first two are showing the first signs of flowering!

Not yet.... Still smells like green, but that could change tomorrow. Unbelievable growth last few days.
