Can anybody help?

I’m unable to upload pictures at the moment but I’ve got 4 autos, each different strains all growing in compost - and all of them have developed white spots and a thin skin around the stem at the base of the plant where it meets the compost - I was curious is it could just be roots that went too high or maybe some sort of fungus - some leaves on one plant look droopy and almost slight shiny/ wet looking - not experienced anything like this before, I’m only on my 4th grow and not too sure what to do.
Any advice appreciated :)

Hey mate, Best advice I can give is to post some images so we can see what you mean? Then, other more experienced people will certainly help you out.

In terms of posting pics, you can do that here, to the private servers once you have the minimum posts required which I am sure you can achieve, just start commenting on some other posts (all comments are welcome on every post but especially mine):-

Sounds like roots to me tbh. Get your post count to 10 and you can upload pics :)

it sounds like nothing to me mate. cannabis is a stem rooter so if moisture is high around the stem you can get the start of root nubs forming. the thin sheet layer on the stem is just the infant covering that helps protect the young plant from infections during seedling stage. no stress buddy all sounds well

the affected leaves sounds like a different issue from the description but pics will help 100% man

Ok I’ll try get my post count up ASAP - I think it’s most likely roots but just being extra cautious around it because I’ve invested a lot in new equipment for this grow and desperate to make it worth it
Got 4 Autos Growing, Glue Gelato, Skittlez OG, Critical Kush, and Purple Punch all from barneys farm - really looking forwards to it.

It's hard to say if it's anything to worry about until we see it. From the description, it just sounds like shedding and maybe you've got the base a little wer and you may have a couple of roots starting to form.
