First Grow Strains - Feedback

Post by tover »

I've been researching where to start with my first grow. I have space for two small plants and I'm interested mostly in learning to grow and exploring strains I never tried, especially for more functional / medical effects.

Essential:
  • Autoflowering
  • Relatively Low Odour
  • Moderate Size (Can try LST, but let's keep it simple)
  • Not too finicky
Preferred:
  • 1 Indica, 1 Sativa
  • Some functional / medical effects - e.g. anti anxiety, clear head / focusing, social, etc
  • Mould Resistant (it gets very humid)
  • Mild climate (it's winter, no freeze risk though)
Most of my research has been done on Royal Queen Seeds. If you can suggest another source that sells small quantities please do share. So far I like:

Indica
  • Royal Bluematic (small, low odour, medium CBD)
  • Northern Lights Auto (beginner friendly, low odour, mould resistant, but taller and low CBD)
  • Royal Crematic (low odour, small, medium CBD)
Sativa:
  • Stress Killer (high CBD, moderate THC, clear high, mould resistant, but lemon haze / skunk genetics, so concerned about smell)
  • Royal Jack Auto (sativa, less couchlock, low odour, medium CBD)

Anyone have feedback on these or suggestions on what else to try?

Hello buddy.
You can get small quantity seeds from pretty much anywhere. Is it a 100% must that they need to be autoflowering?
I guess you can't go wrong with Northern Lights. So that would be a good choice and for stress killer a lot of people recommend Blue Dream by Humboldt Seeds. They do autoflowering as well. DJ Smokey is currently growing it.

I try not to grow Sativa and Indica strains at the same time, due to Sativa strains stretching far more than Indica.

I have grown a few royal queen autos. the royal dwarf was a standout out them, avoid the auto jack herer, its piss.
another few good choices would be dinafems, critical jack, blue cheese, or critical+
delicious seeds northern lights x blueberry
or a pick of anything from mephisto

just cut and pasted my "review" of thier jack herer from seedfinder.
Why?
just for a laugh, and why not? they took my money for this garbage.
UTTER SHITE WOULD BE MY COMMENT READ THE FULL STORY HERE, AND CHECK OUT ROYAL QUEEN SEEDS AFTER SALES. http://www.thctalk.com/cannabis-forum/s ... seeds-rant

THESE PLANTS ARE UNDOUBTEDLY THE WORST AUTOS I HAVE EBVER GROWN.
NO BUD LOTS OF LEAVES BUT VIRTUALLY NO BUD. they dont even grow like proper Jack Herer. They are small bushy plants, but have absolutely NO Yeild. Do NOT uSE THESE SEEDS UNLESS YOU HAVE NUTES AND ELECTICITY TO WASTE. YOU WOULD BE CHEAPER BUYING STREET SHIT WEED. THEY ARE LIKE CABBAGES. I emailed RQS with links to my grow diary and pictures, and they came back and told me that autos dont yeild much, and that the bud growth was normal for this plant. UTTER BULLSHIT i say, ive grown loads of autos, and indeeed had 7 others germed and grown at the same time as this lame duck. the rest were all great, but these Turkeys should have been taken to Bernard Matthews for humane extermination! So look at the link, and see that RQS think that this little bud at 8/9 weeks is acceptable. If this is what they think, they need to go and see Dutch Passion, Dinafem ot Paradise pyramid seeds web sites, to see how a PROPER AUTO PERFORMS.
In a nutshell,

AVOID AVOID AVOID, THEY ARE SHIT

its quite subtle, but you might be able to pick up on the fact that i was a little bit dissappointed with them ha ha
