G3 tries grow hacks: fungus gnat bucket sticky traps

Post by G3W2HIN »

This sticky trap hack has really come in handy to mitigate the amount of adult fungus gnats that populated my tent during the beginning of the summer months and fact is that fungus gnats indicate decent mychorizea activity that the gnats love so much .

Though fungus gnats aren't so big a problem taking out the larvae with spinosyn a,d ..this is a sight better than I've seen hanging the cards alone.

To install then 2 ways 1

Be sure to leave covering on till the end.

Cut the cards into desired sized strips .

Split the strips down the center so as to have one sticky side one paper side, you can do it.

Method 1 staple them to the cloth pots
All around the top inner and or outer of the pot , then pull card covering off may be tricky with staples.

Method 2 tape blue painter's tape preferably, run the tape all around the outside sticky side out so as to stick to the bug card holding it in place .

Keeping in mind that you may not want to move the pot by Grabbing the edges ,no braino.

I'm trying good old tape next to make it cheaper will update the write up later.

Hope its ledgable..ImageImageImageImageImageImage

I didn't get a final pic but they were all completely covered, buggers like to crawl around the top o the pot during watering makes sense, some one I recently met had advised against net bags to cover the pots I thought It was great but it was collecting mildew after a month or so ...no go with that. As I live near the ocean and he says watering it still does this indoors idk

Yes sage we can get it mostly people I know use neem cake ,and dr.zymes because sufacants, must be watered down to a perfect ratio, arent desirable in my grow as it stunts my ability to foliar feed.

IPM I introduce BT once a week , spinosyn A,D once a week ,during flower no sprays on the plant obviously.

Reset my tent with PYRETHRUM and isopropyl alcohol

I found the practice of using sufacants outdoors to be better utilized because of the power of the oils, not really needed indoors.

OCG really pushes the "nectar o t g " line which I see as total bullshit. I've tasted totally fucked up shit sauce from those grows

First time ever a home grow made me puke...nectar of the gutter

That was just my experience, isolated I'm sure , so I choose my salts carefully for my coco grows and soil well that's a different respect...o.o cheers and yes I flush my coco not my soil
