Cal/mag at home

Post by Wizard »

Fellow grower that does all his grow 100% organic gave me a good tip to make your own cal mag . I found beaver and crow skull and bones in the woods he says to cool them up , best on a barbecue, cook till black, crush up and add brown rice vinegar. Wait till the bubbles stop and add to water at 500:1

Or, you could just add dolomite lime. :D

Hi mate,

Over here, there's garden lime and Dolomite lime. It's best to use Dolomite lime as the calmag ratios are closer to what's needed than garden lime.

That should be okay, but I'd be happier seeing a label that said Dolomite.

I use one heaped tablespoon per 5 litres.

I hope that helps.

You add it to the soil at least a month in advance. It has to stabilize first.

I measure 5 litres of soil, I then mix it into the soil, then moisten. If you moisten first, it will clump together.

Once a month has passed, it's good to use and you shouldn't have any calmag issues for the whole grow.
