HPS for flower.

Post by Treetrunk »

I've had Lumii 600w digital ballast and light given.
I'm going to give it a go for flowering with a 2k bulb.
I'm in 80cm tent so reckon 400w should be enough??
Would I be better buying a 400w bulb or 600w running at 400w?
I eventually plan on doing a side by side led and HP's grow in matching 80cm tents.
Thanks for any advice

Yes buy a 400 watter, i like the dual spec Omega bulbs. You`ll notice a difference for sure in bud size using it.

I was thinking led for veg and first two weeks of flip then a 2000k hps. Don't think I'd need dual spec. The bulb in it is a 600w Lumii black dual spec.
I'm going to give it a go with the Afghani clones.

I’m running an ish 4r and am looking to get one of the uva supplement lights for extra frost, my thinking is the led doesn’t give any uv, whereas hps does is this correct anyone?

Yes and no, led doesnt give whats taken as the right uv for added stickyness and trich production it kicks out uva which is not what your looking for your wanting uvb, i think hps gives off a wee bit but you wanna be looking at uvb cfl bulbs i use 2 x 13 watters uvb i think its uvb 10 or uvb 12 might even be uvb15, i forgot tbh but its strongest yiou get for reptiles, but im looking at upgrading them to summink like this in not too distant future https://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/Arcadia-Pro- ... How long do you leave the uvb on for?

Around 10 hours daily for last 3 weeks, but from digging around picking things up and such like, you can use it owt from 3 to 12 hours a day for last 2 or 3 weeks does a jobby on them

I've seen a few advocates of a far red uvb for 15 minutes at lights off.
It's a bloody minefield
