Any ideas why my plants are doing this?

Never seen this on ganja, but thinking it kinda looks like maybe the stem was damaged and youve picked up some kind of canker. Doesnt look to be affecting growth too much but i would love to see a cross section of the stem when you chop it

I'm thinking it might be time to give the hydroton a good clean with hydrogen peroxide. It's 3 years old and I've only ever shook roots out and reused.
