Why did you start smoking cannabis?

Hey all just wondering how you all start smoking cannabis ?was it recreational at first or medical and why do you smoke it now for recreational or medical or both? Thanks for stopping buy just wanna know your options are what made you change to start smoking it ?

Over 40 years ago (dam i feel old) was recreational and still is for me i love to get totally wasted. These days i try to keep it to w/ends and evenings no more all day smoking.

I was 11 and in the first year of secondary school, stayed at a mates house one night after an atheletics competition and it all went down hill from there lol. Initially tried it because i thought it was cool i guess, carried on because i liked it although getting hold of dope in the early teens could be a bit problematic. I knew about it all from about 8 years old cus alot of my friends back home were in their teens, they'd let me have the ciggies but not the spliffs though. As i got older i just carried on and my circle of friends all all smoked too. These days there's only a few of us smokers left and althiugh ive had alot if breaks i always come back

I was around 13/14 tried it with a few mates and loved it from the first puff, the smell and relaxation what’s not to love. Then I started work and drink kind of took over as my go to social drug, used to work with a white Barbadian guy when I was an apprentice and we used to do jobs and the have spliffs after work, then I had a long break only having it off and on and only really discovered it again and started using it for medicinal reasons by now it’s flower not hash, started growing outdoors about 5 years ago and I think il continue my relationship with the mother herb till I leave this planet as it makes things better in lots of ways. Plus the community is awesome.

For me it all begun for medical reasons and it still is. Had an erupted disk in my lower back 5 years ago and did undergo surgery that not ended as planned since i since then got chronic pain 24/7 and severe pain as well. So among all of us here at GR420 i'm fairly new when it comes to cannabis and i am learning stuff every day.

Due to how my situation is i don't see myself stop using cannabis for medical reasons since i don't see myself becoming pain free in a near or distant future. And besides i kinda like the effect it has on me and i definitely like the flavor i get out of some strains when i vape them.

I started when I was about 17 and smoked on and off since then (Mainly on ) then I stopped for many years, got married, she didn't smoke...

Started again to try and manage my chronic pain and it works better than morphine!

Started at 17. Always a square kid and drugs were a no to me. Obviously weed at school was in the drug talks as tbe devils drug to lead you on to worse things but I couldn't understand how a plant could be in that group.
Wanted to try had opportunity to so did.

Now a 35 year old mother of 2 a d not a crack head so don't think what that were telling us at school was quite right.

I'm a total recreational smoker and always have been its only now I've really looked at is as a medicine too

I honestly didn’t start smoking until a little over a year ago. When I got sick I realized quickly that doctors where only going to load me with hard core pain meds and I wanted a more natural option

I was 16 and showed up over at a friends house. It was a boring Saturday afternoon. My older friends pulled out a pipe and they started passing it around. It got to me and they asked if I wanted a hit. So I tried it. Five minutes later I was amazed by the lights on the equalizer. A bit later the older girl that was there taught me how to kiss. It defiantly made a boring day fun.

I was like 12 when i first got introduced and actually smoked it. I just wanted to feel good honestly.. i was already smoking cigs and stealing chewing tobacco from family members ha. Now i use it recreationally for enjoying my day but i see it majorly for medicinal. I supper from BPD, Bipolar, Anxiety and my OCD. Its a life safer and i dont use the 7 pills i use to take a day.. only 3 now and all at night. I smoke about every 2 hours while working or at home.. i dont really see it as getting high anymore kinda just like getting normal
