IBL vs Poly (Genetic Comparison)

Post by Misfit »

Hey gardeners,

We all know genetics matter, and I was doing a comparison to show see what the difference is really like.

6 polyhybrids and 4 IBL seeds were started at the same time. The polyhybrids were the first to emerge, and the IBL took a little longer to emerge but grows bigger and faster. All grown in the same environment. The IBL is about twice as big now at 2 weeks.

We can see the same sort of thing in germination tests with h202. Higher concentrations than 1% ( 2 – 3% before toxicity kills off the majority at 5 – 10%) solution will result in high germination rates and longer shoots than with 1% but lower growth amount in the cotyledons and first leaves and lower overall survival rates. We can think of it as a runner who sprints off the starting line at full speed in a long marathon. They use up their enegy foolishly too fast in the very beginning.

The IBL in contrast that has been selected through good plant breeding retains its plant intelligence and knows when and how to use its energy in a more successful way.

Over-hybridization in the commercial polyhybrids dilutes several key traits, and has a noticeable negative impact on the plant intelligence. It’s something in the epigenetics. A type of retardation. The concerning part is this retardation has appeared rather quickly within a couple decades and the hybrid blender along with the associated bad breeding practices don’t show any signs of stopping. Actually it is getting worse.

I got the Mazar IBL from Pure Heritage, and the Polyhybrid from a common mass market supplier, but I don't want to give their name because I don't want to show them in a negative context like this because their plants are just not doing good in comparison to the IBL.

You can see the info for the IBL listed here:

I highly recommend finding the best quality genetics because its the foundation of your grow. I've been missing out growing the wrong type of plants for too long, and this really brings back the excitement in the hobby for me.
