Boveda RH packs and Burping.

Post by Marcus »

Anyone using the boveda packs?

Do you still burp your jars during curing or just leave the packs to do their thing?

I still burp mine mate when i was using them :idn: good question, I've been hanging them for around a week just lately, then into them smell proof bags until ready, (If I had the space I'd keep them all in the fridge)

Yes i burp my jars till they hit 62rh and then leave them, i also prefer jarring bud up that's a higher rh than 62 around 65 to 70rh, its makes a much better cured bud than doing it the other way around by letting the Boveda packs add rh into a dryer bud, difference is like night and day imo.

If RH packs ever go hard and crystallise dont bin them, just slam them in a plastic tub that also has a smaller tub of water in it and stick them on windowsill, but dont get them wet, pop the Boveda in dry part of larger tub, they will rejuvenate in no time at all as the salts become wet again taking up rh from tub, summink they forget to mention on Boveda packets, me wonders why hmm...

If you haven't tried it, dry some then cure it in the fridge, takes longer but its worth it :oik!:

I used them for a bit when my bud was overdried..never really brought them back to the RH..I suppose it brings it down if humidity is too high.

My process is drying rack, then jar up 3/4 in a 1litre jar when a hygrometer..I use two different meters one smart and the other one, one of the basic jobbiez of ebay

I leave the bud in the jar initially for like 30mins if it goes above 75% RH I put back on the rack. I repeat until I get to around 65-70% then burp more often until I get to Round 60%ish

Sorry I've just given you my burping life story when you asked a simple.question.
