I was in a car, playing a nintendo gameboy advance ( the ones with the shit backlight ) listening to mark and lard on radio 1 whilst skiving work because I was ill.
Many years on I am on a laptop, watching TV whilst skiving work hahahaha.
Amazing how you remember these things - I wasnt sure it was real at the time!
The quieter you become, the more you are able to hear.

Remembering Sept 11th 2001

Post by Momma bear » Sun Sep 15, 2019 4:43 am

The day our hearts sank.. fear took over and the world seemed to stop. I remember it vividly.. was at work.. I remember hearing people talking and thought what crazy movie did they watch. Then I walked my the common room TV just in time to see the second plane hit. The people running ..crying ..so lost and confused. I remember seeing the people so hopeless that they jumped from the high rise building. The ashes as they fell like rain from the sky. I remember tears welling up as I watched all of this ..paralyzed in front of that Tv. Once I got home I watched the news worried that there may be more. Then I remember seeing all of the firefighters and police man and civilians by the thousands coming to help try and rescue any survivors. I saw the tv as so many where raising money and taking care of the families of the fallen. I saw fisherman using there boats to rush survivors across and away from the smoke and ashes. Other countries sending aide and people to come help us. And I remember feeling complete pride when we all stood together and for that brief time was one nation. One heart.. I will never forget 9-11

A Heart is not judged by how much you love; but by how much you are loved by others- The Wizard of Oz
